Open Message to Mr. Beck (self proclaimed historian). Tonight on your TV show you said that you read the Confederate Constitution and I paraphrase "it had slavery written all over it, all about slavery blah blah blah". You are incorrect sir, I did a word search on the document and the word slavery appears "one" time. Everyone can try it for themselves at the link provided below.
Can never trust a Yankee, even a goofy entertaining one.
No, how about another quote from the great man himself?
"If the people raise a great howl against my barbarity and cruelty, I will answer that war is war, and not popularity seeking."
Any time what, punkrr?
Nonsense. The seceding party can - and in the case of the confederacy, most certainly did - start a war. The Davis regime believed that Fort Sumter was worth going to war over. It was their choice, and in the end their fatal mistake.
More proof of yankee racism.
No, they just beat him like a rented mule. Must be soooo embarassing for you.
A noobie damnyankee speaking out of his rectum.
Nothing new here...............
It was just a courtesy ping. I was responding to Idabilly’s post to you, and wanted you to be aware that I was jumping into the conversation. So far as I can tell you and I don’t disagree on anything of substance.
Cowboyway with is head fully inserted up his own.
Nothing new here...............
What particular form of psychosis were you diagnosed with, punkrr?
I'm guessing that it has something to do with early childhood trauma to the brain.
Wait a tick! That can't be right because you'd actually have to have a brain.
Well, whatever it is I'm sure that the Psychiatric Institute of Washington will eventually figure it out and put you on the long, arduous road to recovery.
Load 'em up, and send them South. Y'all are just damn lucky that killing civilians isn't a Southern trait. But, it sure did help your hero.
I'm sure that NS and the rest of the damnyankee coven were cheering wildly while .gov was slaughtering women and children at Waco.
-----------------------------------------------
Vermont, just another courtesy ping. You know what they say about folk's from Chicago.
Your 'plight' was of your own making, and blaiming the fallout of your stupid decisions on others won't change that. War was what the confederacy chose. Having done so, only they could ensure that the war didn't come back to bite them. They failed miserably in that.
Y'all are just damn lucky that killing civilians isn't a Southern trait.
ROTFLMAO!!!
But, it sure did help your hero.
Gross Southern exaggerations aside, Sherman didn't need to kill any civilians to make Georgia howl. The fact that the rebel rabble was busy running in the opposite direction made that possible.
And I have no doubt that if it had been Newark rather than Waco you would have been there cheering them on and roasting weenies.
But, your still a Damnyankee
----------------------------------------------------
John Bennett Walters: "An invading army, without any claim on military necessity, had thrown away every inclination toward mercy for weakness and helplessness. The Federal troops had resorted to the sheer brutality of overpowering strength to despoil a people of their material resources and to injure irreparably their finer sensibilities."
Need it spelled out ?
To bad we haven't seen anything of substance yet, still holding out hope.
Women and children, black and white, were robbed, brutalized, and left homeless in Shermans infamous raid through Georgia. Torture and rape were not uncommon. In South Carolina, homes, farms, churches, and whole towns disappeared in flames. Civilians received no mercy at the hands of the Union invaders. Earrings were ripped from bleeding ears, graves were robbed, and towns were pillaged. Wherever Federal troops encountered Southern Blacks, whether free or slave, they were robbed, brutalized, belittled, kidnapped, threatened, tortured, and sometimes raped or killed by their blue-clad liberators.
Dr. Wilson :
"A whole team of third-string, half-baked carpetbagger historians of the type that now staff all Southern universities are presented to make the best possible case for the glory
. But
it is a bad cause that has to be defended by lies. And it can only be defended by lies, then and now." Amen !
ROTFLMAO!!!! No, no, in the Lost Cause world any unsubstantiated claim will do. In fact the more outrageous the claim and the less evidence there it to support it then the more firmly you cling to it.
But let me point out that your original claim was about Sherman slaughtering civilians. You backing away from that?
And you're still a Lost Causer. Some things will never change.
