Tonight on your TV show you said that you read the Confederate Constitution and I paraphrase "it had slavery written all over it, all about slavery blah blah blah". You are incorrect sir, I did a word search on the document and the word slavery appears "one" time. Everyone can try it for themselves at the link provided below.

Well, I admit, I don’t have the ability to read minds as you apparently have with Byrd, so I admit a disadvantage.
I can only go with facts. Not made up shi’ite like “West Virginia was a border state.” It was not a border state in the traditional sense, like Missouri and Kansas, any more than Virginia was a border state. That’s a simple fact.
West Virginia’s ideology and allegiance were northern/unionist. You can dance around and create fantasy explanations all day long but it won’t change that fact. Given that it was so aligned with anti-state’s rightists that it seceded from the Confederacy and was made it’s own union state makes argument to the contrary simply asinine.
As far as Byrd is concerned I don’t care whether he felt spiritually aligned with the Confederacy or not. Regardless of whether the WBTS was about slavery, it was NOT about racism. These two concepts are no more synonymous than “Republican” and “conservative”. Byrd was a racist. He was from a northern state.
Those are the facts. Sorry that hurts your feelings, but I can’t change them and neither can you. To better understand, it might help if you would admit that racism today is far more robust in the north than it is in the south.

Why is this not accurate? Draft riots, losing the war, why wouldn't he use the blacks to fill out the ranks for an UNPOPULAR WAR.
But, it's false advertisement. Bush was hated by the leftist, and Lincoln was one.
One might ask Davis the same thing since he was faced with whole counties filled with deserters and draft dodgers unwilling to fight for his losing cause. But you paint the enlistment of blacks as an act of desperation, which it certainly was not. Unlike confederate conscription, the U.S. draft was a dismal failure. And Lincoln never resorted to forcibly extending army enlistments for the duration of the war as Davis and Lee did, so the army could have disintegrated on several occasions as enlistments ran out. Yet the Union army was larger and stronger on the last day of the way than it was at the end of the first year of the war. The Union army never melted away through mass desertions as Lee's army did. The 200,000 black Union troops, give or take, comprised less than 10% of the Union army. The rest of their fellow warriors were white, overwhelmingly native born, almost entirely volunteer. Unpopular the war may have been in certain Democrat defeatist quarters, for most of the country it was a cause they believed in. And they demonstrated that with their service.
