People on the street got splattered by his blood and body parts. I was across the street when it happened.

Jumpers just don’t think about it if they hit someone ... read some where people were killed when a jumper fell on them. You want to kill yourself, fine. Do it someplace where nobody gets hurt but themselves.

I wonder about this types that jump off the Empire state. You know, twenty stories will more than do it, without leaving you all that “think” time on the way down. Plus the Empire State has some security measures; it might be harder to get over barriers than you think.

So why this building? Some last, flamboyant hurrah?

Looking at his picture, I have to wonder what demons he was running from. Thank God no one else was hurt, and prayers for his family.

So tragic.

He jumped during PM rush hour. Even though it was raining yesterday, the streets were jammed in the area with tourists and workers going home for the day. He wanted attention and he got it.

Knowing that congested area well I’m shocked that he didn’t land on some poor soul walking down the street.

It’s spring break in the area this week and the area was really crowded, even with the rain.

Dispatcher: “Has anyone thought to give him mouth to mouth resuscitation?”

You pick up the head, put it in your lap and breathe ... one... three... four.

The guy across the street does the chest compressions.

this is grusome...

What if you change your mind on the way down?

He probably didn’t think that. Not everything is about politics.

You’d be wrong about his father. There’s
DABAGHI, RASHAD E. DR. of Austin
DABAGHI, SALIM of Angleton and a
DABAGHI, SHAD E DR. of Austin

They are all physicians and donate exclusively to Republicans (mostly Texans). They are not huge donors but they have donated a couple of thousand over the years.

There’s also a
DABAGHI, WILLIAM K. MR. of Washington DC who is an attorney and also is a Republican donor.

Being smart sucks sometimes. Occasionally it sucks a lot.

It can make life difficult.

>> My question...how do you jump off the ESB? <<

If we knew the answer to that, we coulda got into Yale.

Classic answer -- mixture of irony & humor! Thanks!

I totally agree with you. A young man is dead and his family is grieving. Why would anyone want to put politics into this? Beats me.

That would have been awful, of course, but we have no idea what was going on inside this young man’s head that caused him to do this. Googling his name turns up nothing but a good kid who did well in school and tennis. Something obviously rendered him unable to think rationally yesterday evening, and he probably wasn’t really able to consider anything beyond whatever demons were in his mind. Besides, smart-ass comments are hardly a civilized way to show concern for other people who might have been killed or seriously injured, or those who may actually have been severely traumatized by what they saw and/or got splattered with. This was a tragedy and could easily have been a bigger one. It’s just plain sad.

Yep. Prayers up for the family and all those who are dealing with the aftermath.

And it’s not just politics, but plain old rude snarkiness (2, 5, 9, 11, 26, 28, 31, 33, 37, 47, 50) and the sicko sophomoric side discussion (8, 12, 14, 15, 17, 19, 49, 58).

If this is representative of the FR crew that’s supposed to fight the uphill battle to restore our Constitutional Republic, we might as well just resign ourselves to Obamacare and a whole lot worse.
