Watching the video of Sarah Palins appearance with William Shatner on the Tonight Show with Conan OBrien, the one word that came to mind was style. Yet, there was more to it than that.
After all, she entered the arena of late night television, a stage that has excoriated her routinely the enemy camp as Chris Matthews might say. Mrs. Palin's has been scoffed at before by Mr. OBrien. The show has featured William Shatner mocking Mrs. Palins tweets by reading them as dramatic recitations.
Still, Mrs. Palin handled her appearance with the aplomb of Beyonce at the MTV Video Music Awards. She exuded the charm of Sophia Loren; the dignity of a Katharine Hepburn.
The blend of these qualities, with the feistiness and intellect of Margaret Thatcher and the forty-something feminine beauty of a Demi Moore, is what makes Mrs. Palin so dangerous to the political establishments of both parties.
She has a certain manner, an allure about her that has endeared her to a wide swath of the American public in a short period of time. She is upsetting a lot of apple carts and the entrenched politicos resent it. They have directed their fire at her.
Indeed, Mrs. Palin has weathered a torrent of vitriol. While her primary critics are liberal Democrats, the bien-pensants of both parties fear and loathe her.
This was evinced recently by Michael Petrillis hortatory article in the Wall Street Journal. Petrillis haughty piece titled, Whole Foods Republicans, had this to say about Mrs. Palin, there's Sarah Palin, whose entire brand is anti-intellectual.
Mr. Petrillis remarks about Mrs. Palins supporters echoed what liberals have said about military personnel in Iraq (Senator John Kerry, D-Mass.: you get stuck in Iraq) and the audience of the Limbaugh show.

Since before it went on sale. They are reprinting it for the fourth or fifth time. Demand for information about her seems to be increasing.
I'll have to admit I helped. WalMart was pre-selling for $8 with free shipping. I sent a dozen to family and friends for Christmas gifts, but told everybody to open on arrival and enjoy. I got my copy the day after release, and finished it the next day. I got a few surprises, but also a good impression of who and what she is. It's a good read, and a good further exposure to her ideas. She became more than that lady that impressed me last year. She became the front runner on my list. She is the most electable conservative, and the most conservative of the electable, IMHO.
I wish she would step up now, to take control of the anger and frustration, and lead a revolution to take back our country. With strong leadership, many would show up with tar and feathers, and run the traitors out on Amtrak.
MNo you are a liar who refuses to engage in a discussion of facts and issues,. You are acting deranged, and I ask the administrator to check this entire thread .It is borderline psychopathic.
“MNo you are a liar who refuses to engage in a discussion of facts and issues,. You are acting deranged, and I ask the administrator to check this entire thread .It is borderline psychopathic.”
What you posted is an absolute lie and contradiction.
In fact it is you who time and again refuse to debate. You post rambling rants with no arguments and then demand debate.
You are misleading the Moderator re: Kayak.
I stated my views in post #5 in a straightforward manner, without rancor, no ad hominems, nothing of the kind.
I would point out also, that I answered your post #68 with a respectful post to you at #97, again, without rancor, no ad hominems, no name calling whatsoever and again: it went unanswered, but the slinging of that ‘troll label’ by you went on and on and on.
Now you can pull up any and every kind of definition of ‘troll’ citing ‘Internet slang’ or whatever you wish, but here on FR where I was posting years before you showed up, ‘troll’ is one of the most insulting and offensive things you can call another Freeper, and it is usually reserved for n00bs who sign up for the express purpose of posting nonsense, disrupting legitimate discussion, or assailing FR in general. You’ve been here since 2007 and I cannot believe that you’ve never seen the mods unleash the mighty ‘ZOT’ on such clowns (after the Viking Kitties are done toying with them).
Now as it was already suggested at my post #48, this thread originally was posted under ‘News/Activism’ and if you don’t want any opposing opinions or questions, you ought to be posting these articles under ‘Religion’ so you (or the Religion Mod) can fully control each and every response (and you know, I’d bet that even Sarah herself wouldn’t approve of that sort of censorship, what do you think?).
Mod, if you check the thread, miller an wv are the two biggest name callers I have seen at FR in years. Check the threads with these two in relation to myself and Rabscuttle385. We post facts that are directly from the mouth of someone with proof, and all we get are invectives, slander, COWARD, and the like. This has got to stop. If I post that Palin PAC has given money to RINOs, and get trashed(even when it is listed at Sarah Pac, I expect an argument, but no slander and childish invectives unrelentingly. The same 2 have done the same thing to Rabs relentlessly. I would like to support Palin, but she is making it hard with her donations to Super RINO’s and saying she supports McCain 100%. McCain is a scourge on the conservative landscape, and has done us great harm. If I am going to be trashed every time I post FACTS, not opinions, it cheapens the quality of this website, and leaves us open to ridicule by the left.
I don’t think we need to ping the Mod on every post since they are aware of the thread already.
It's been quite day here in WV. I've had the DC news on all day and FR has kept my mind off the rat race. We have over 50" of snow in the yard. I hope it;s over, but the cold wills tay through the week, with more white stuff possible at the end of the week (white Christmas month?).
I'm heading to bed now, even though it's early, I've been up since 3am and no nap. I've shoveled twice and it looks like when it first started. I'm too old for this crap!
I'll be back later!
With regard to posts 27 and 28, of which I am the author, and of which you propose are examples of "trolling," I have merely posted links to other threads on Free Republic, only one of which was originally posted by myself.
All are from reputable, verifiable sources.
To date, no Freeper on any thread has actually attempted to refute the evidence I have tied together and presented; instead, there have been many Freepers on multiple threads who have either summarily dismissed the evidence outright or resorted to hurling ad hominems at the messenger.
That Gov. Palin's PAC made contributions to the re-election campaigns of Sens. Hatch, Murkowski, Graham, and McCain are matters of public record as noted by the Federal Elections Committee. That McCain has in the past been a chief supporter and champion of non-conservative legislation involving cap-and-trade and amnesty for illegals is also on the record; you can find the text of his bills and the associated votes on the THOMAS system run by the Library of Congress, and there is plenty of media coverage over the years that will correlate his actions. That Palin recently openly endorsed McCain in his re-election attempt "100 percent" and promised her full support in his service is on the record. Furthermore, that Graham is an ardent supporter and champion of non-conservative legislation in the style of McCain is just as undeniable; Graham is sponsoring cap-and-trade legislation along with Sens. Kerry and Lieberman, both Democrats, and amnesty legislation along with Sen. Schumer, again, a Democrat.
So, to get to the heart of the matter: today, Palin railed against the Copenhagen agreement on cap-and-trade using her Twitter account. There's a thread about it here on FR; go look for it if you don't believe me. Personally, I think it's rather odd to rail against something yet then turn around and give money to someone who supports that something, don't you think?
I can fully understand why you would say that.
I now refer you to post 164. This is not what FR is about.
In all seriousness and all disagreement aside, do be careful with that snow shoveling, I’ve known too many people who over exerted themselves and ended up with heart attacks.
Unless you have to get out, let Mother Nature melt that stuff.
Stay safe.
We’ve been moved to the smoky back room so light them up! I’m going to bed.
“We post facts that are directly from the mouth of someone with proof, and all we get are invectives, slander, COWARD, and the like”
LOL. You are a liar and a Palin hater. You live in a make believe world. Now you are not only pinging the Mod but the Founder and owner.
You are the one who refused to debate yesterday. Even though you just copy and paste ANTI PALIN DIATRIBES with no coherent points.
Quit whining and crying.
I will let the moderators decide who is telling the truth here. Your word is worthless.
Why don’t you two just settle this outside? A little bird told me that you were already issued an invitation Miller, have you answered it yet?
Sleep well.
Refute this, or are you out of lies. This is what we get trashed for by vermin like you.

I rejected your invectives and proposition then, and continue now.

If they can refute the facts, I’d like to see them get with it.
Nice post.
