SORRY NEWT...PALIN'S RIGHT!
The Edisto Joe Outlook ^ | 10/25/2009 | Edisto Joe

Posted on 10/25/2009 9:07:08 AM PDT by Edisto Joe

Sarah Palin's endorsement of Conservative, Doug Hoffman, in the upstate New York Senate Race over Republican Dede Scozzafava who is backed by Newt Gingrich, is a clear example of the present problem facing the Republican Party. Scozzafava is a Republican in name only. She votes like a liberal, stands for big government, abortion rights, and even supports laws to make it easier for unions to organize private business. So why would Newt Gingrich support her?

According to Newt, if you want to take back Congress from the Democrats, then you need to accept Republican candidates who may not fully conform to party ideals. I'm sorry Newt, but Sarah's right on this one. As she stated on her Facebook page, "Political parties must stand for something" and she's absolutely right.

Gingrich's reasoning only makes sense if you are strictly a supporter of party politics by name only. It is not the way to fix the Republican party and retake Congress and the White House. Another line of reasoning says, what good is it to elect a candidate that will support the Democratic agenda and eventually go the way of Arlan Specter. Better to stand up for your beliefs and die at the ballot box than give aid and comfort to the enemy. This is exactly the reason Palin is endorsing Doug Hoffman. Without Hoffman in this race it would be a contest against two Democrats, one who happens to be running on the Republican ticket. Hoffman may not win and indeed recent polling shows that may be the case, but at least another "pretender" from the Republican side will have a harder time winning office. This is the message that needs to be sent to the RNC....

Palin is exactly right on this, and Newt is out to lunch supporting such an abject RINO...in fact, worse than a RINO.

We must support and elect constitutional candidates whom we know beforehand will take their oath to the constitution seriously and fufill that oath, and who are committed wholly to stand on and support constitutional principle.

When WE, the citizens and voters of this nation insist on that course of action ourselves, in large numbers, we will inact change.

That is what is happening with Sarah and others who are supporting Hoffman...and it is what MUST happen with each of us. It will force the GOP back to the constitution, and back to its own platform for Heaven's sake.

When we do, the right candidates and the right parties will rise to the top like cream rises to the top of fresh milk because we will have insisted and forced it to be so.

The FR sanctioned:

RESTORE THE CONSTITUTION EFFORT

which is an FR Alliance web site, is about precisely that. Please join us, and a lot of other FREEPERS there, as we work together and identify and support candidates dedicated to doing precisely that at all levels.

Newt, as your ex-constituent, take your Congressional Pension, quit trying to feather your nest and reclaim the power and stature that you lost by not keeping it in your pants. Just STFU, why don’t you?

Newt ....worse than a RINO.

A Vichy republican:

They claim that they love freedom,
but they collaborate with the enemy.

I have e-mailed Newt’s press secretary and he sent back the same old typical line of blather as was mentioned in the blog piece. My response back was;

Thanks for the reply, but with all due respect, the train has already left the station and Newt simply went to the wrong gate.

Newt has morphed into a NYTimes David Books Republican who wishes Conservatives would just shut up and be more like Juan MeCain and Mini-MeCain Graham.

Newt’s been active saying many right things lately. But I think he is wrong on this. So far, Palin’s instincts/reasoning on the issues have been unerring.

I’ll give a gold star to the next Republican who gets on the Hoffman (Palin) bandwagon. Even if it’s John (an echo, not a choice) McCain. Who will step up next?

May not FULLY conform!? Name one thing on which this RINO does conform with traditional republican values. Newt's got his head up his arse on this one.

Excellent analogy...French supporting Hitler in WWII...lying in bed with the enemy. It seems to be going around in the Republican camp. I can’t think of a better way to describe it!

Is Newt on his third or fourth or fifth wife ?

I’d rather have enemies across the fence, than inside my fence! If Hoffman has to fall on his sword fighting to keep the ememies OUT OF MY FENCE, then so be it!

I am so dissappointed with Newt. I don't know how a man who orchastrated one of the most prolific wins for the republican party in history can think that rinos are good for this party?

The deomocrats are not our problem right now, it's the moderates and rinos in the repub party and for Newt not to recognize this is a travesty!

Newt you been in the media too long, you can't even recognize the basic elements of what this country and party needs.

Either return to your conservative roots or go away!

I heard that Gingrich was on Fox and Friends this morning, and when asked about his support for Scuzzy, he almost went into meltdown mode, denouncing those who have come out in support of Hoffman, accusing them of being violating the tenth amendment, and getting really worked up. I didn’t see it, but maybe someone will post a clip somewhere.

Newt was on Fox and Friends this morning lying about this. Trying to make it sound like Hoffman was rejected by the voters, when he was just rejected by the local power brokers. Newt tried to make Scazzafava sound like an anti-tax fiscal conservative, when she is just the opposite. Saying the Hoffman is some kind of ‘outsider’ and how supporting Hoffman goes against all kinds of conservative principles.. Just a bunch of trash.

The problem with Newt, McCain, Lindsey and the like is they only listen to consultants and each other, not the people.

Fifteen years ago Newt was a Baptist and against Abortion.

Newt has a new wife and a new religion and now he supports Abortion.

I think he is not tightly wrapped.

The "Contract With America" was, I guess, merely a tactic for Newt. Once governing, Newt's effectiveness declined and his weaknesses (libido included) were made tools to be used against Republicans.

There is a reason why fidelity, or the blatant disregard of it, is rightly considered telling of one's trustworthiness.

One can appreciate how great Reagan was because many pretenders like Newt have aspired to his mantle and none have been able to qualify to even touch his robe.
