Only months after a new state law effectively banned "mom" and "dad" from California schools, a total of 600,000 students could follow because of what has been described as the "repudiation" of 2,000 years of Christian morality, according to leaders of a new campaign assembling education alternatives.
The campaign is called California Exodus, and is being headed by Ron Gleason, pastor of Grace Presbyterian Church in Yorba Linda, who said while the country excels in social, economic, scientific and political accomplishments, it "gets low grades on the education of its children."
The issue is the state legislature's adoption of Senate Bill 777, which requires only positive portrayals of homosexual, bisexual, transgender and other alternative lifestyle choices.
"First, the law allowed public schools to voluntarily promote homosexuality, bisexuality, and transsexuality. Then, the law required public schools to accept homosexual, bisexual, and transsexual teachers as role models for impressionable children. Now, the law has been changed to effectively require the positive portrayal of homosexuality, bisexuality, and transsexuality to six million children in California government-controlled schools," said Randy Thomasson, chief of the Campaign for Children and Families and one of those who originally called for an abandonment of public schools.
"To rescue their children, loving parents need to find an alternative to government schools, and every church needs to make it a priority to help parents be in charge of their children's education again," he said.
He has condemned public school districts as "no longer a safe emotional environment for children" under the new law, signed by Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger, that will introduce children as young as kindergarten to the homosexuality and other alternative lifestyle choices.

“fatherless kids, STDs, abortions, broken hearts, walks of shame, one night stands, broken marriage, divorces, child support payments, welfare checks, addictions, unnecessary depression, disappointments in false friendships, delinquencies, crime..etc.”
Good thing these don’t happen to people who never stop attending church. And of course it’s a terrible thing that returning to the fold doesn’t do you any good.
My point remains, there’s just no way that it’s true that 88 percent (BTW, I’ve now seen the figures 75, 80, 85, 88 and 90 percent, which is it?) of kids leave the church and never return. Churches would be shutting down left and right.
If a parent were to do that to a child, and a Liberal/Marxist government teacher, or Liberal/Marxist neighbor or relative, were to find out, the Child Protection Workers would soon be knocking at that parent’s door.
Who are the authors of today’s touted parenting methods? Answer: Well, the Liberal/Marxists and their Useful Idiots!
When today’s parenting methods fail, and the child does poorly in school as a result, who do the Liberal/Marxists teachers blame? Answer: The parents, of course!
Talk about a Catch 22!
Churches would be shutting down left and right.

I live in a red state now, and that is not happening in this community.
But,,,we did live in Maryland, and churches were shutting down left and right.
No, I am not affiliated with Rush in anyway but I’ve listened as much as I could over the last 17 years. He has a good track record of consistent conservative opinion.
I had no idea that there was a group of people called conservatives before I started listening to Rush. I think there are alot of people like me that had conservative view points but no exposure to conservative ideology.
Stevio, I know Rush discussed this when it was in the legislature and again when the Governer signed it.
Wintertime, man you need to chill out. I know Rush did not sponsor the bill or sign it. You need to focus your energy where the traiters really live.
I don't want to get into a big argument but I don't do this and know no teachers who do unless they agree with those views. So how many demonstrations have you conducted. Have you put your job on the line or is that something only teachers are suppose to do. We can't even get parents to come in for a parent conference let alone organize a big demonstration. In short what have you done!!
LET IT SLIP???
Can we surmise that your son was sneaking and sly by trying to sneakily spread a little salt and light around while their bosses arent looking! ( What an example of Christian living they are!) ?
I thought the official position was that they are born perverted.
I thought the official position was that they are born perverted.
I tried that with locker rooms. Didn't fly. Got busted. I had correctly identified the girls' gender, for sure.
“How did we get to the point that we think we must ask permission from the government to educate our children?”
Umm... Because we do?
What do I win?
Wanna hear something funny? I homeschool my children, and I have started reading an hour a month at the public school across the street. *Gasp* The teachers there didn’t condemn me for it, I didn’t tell her public school is eviiiil and we had a grand time.
Unlike too many in the teaching profession, my son **WAS** willing to lose his job for his religious principles.
My son will find other work. It likely will not be in government, and especially a not government school. He would never agree to teach children what he knew in his heart was false. He would never aid and assist others in doing teaching falsehood either.
The actual event that began all the hostility, was when he declined to contribute an office lottery ticket. That’s when it came out that in our religion, we don’t gamble or participate in the state lottery. It was downhill with the other non-Christian employees from there.
How liberally tolerant of these employees! Real diversity there! (sarc/off)
In time, maybe my son’s commitment and bravery to keep to his principles will be the very Christian example (true “salt and light”) that may bring a non-Christian from his old office to the Lord.
True. It is pretty sad that we have to have government permission to educate our own kids, or in this case, keep the government from educating them.
We can teach them anything we want, but we have to have permission not to send them to government schools.
“It’s for the children!”
It is amazing how many parents have heard those phrases flow seemingly spontaneously from the lips of our highly trained education professionals.
The entire system is iredeemably corrupt and getting worse by the day. (except, of course, the schools of the Freepers who show up to declare theri schools are different because [fill in the blank].)
In some states there is nothing to it - Texas, for example. Pennsylvania would be one of the worst. AOP has an accredited web based academy that can easily be used in a small group setting.
Gee, and I thought Schwarzeneggger was governor of California where this legisation passed. Who knew? It just gets harder and harder to figure out which side of the U.S. California is on, doesn't it?
“why do Oriental and Indian students do so well when they go through it?”
They may or may not do well, academically. I think this thread is deploring the humanistic socialization program they have to go through. We are afraid they come out desensitized to a lot of evil behavior, and unable to think critically about various issues.
Amelia,
That should read: “My son would never aid and assist others in teaching falsehood to children either”
By the way, my son lost his job because he was **honest** and **open**. He was asked to gamble and refused. He was asked why, and he told them.
In the bizarre, Alice in Wonderland world of government schooling, would this be considered sly and sneaky?
As a family, we know that he will soon find honest work, and honest and tolerant people with whom to work. He, his wife, his five children, and the new baby to come in July, will all be richly blessed. They **are** richly blessed right now with the Gospel and the great love that they have for the Lord and for each other.
I am very, very proud of my good son. There is no greater blessing on this earth ( or in heaven) than to be blessed with a good son.
Achilles, thanks for the ping.
Aquinasfan, if you come across any articles regarding superintendents’ workshops, please ping me. I would find them very interesting.
Also...Principals have used those very phrases on me. “You are the **only** parent who has complained!” ( yeah right!)
Axiom: All Marxists lie.
Corollary: Schools are the Marxists most important weapon against freedom.
