He would have to be the best salesman in the world to convince the Religious Right that he is on their side. He's just not. These are not some stupid uninformed voters, they are a very powerful arm of the GOP, who stand on principles. They will never sell out those principles of pro-life, pro-gun and anti-homosexual agenda.

Byron York also wrote a favourable article about Rudy as well. Are you now going to say that the entire National Review is at fault?
Rudy hatred is getting out of hand - it's preventing clarity of thought.

The Religious Right isn't the ONLY wing of the GOP, you know?
And if they "won't sell out," they just may be left wandering in the desert.
I just cannot understand why you'd be willing to hand this country over to people you know will DESTROY the progress that has been made.

Woo Woo! Hoping he'll announce soon and we'll get the real story.
Thanks for the ping.

Rudy was great after 9/11. He cleaned up New York and he cut crime dramatically. He was a great mayor. That doesn't necessarily mean he should be President.

Agreed. I would if need be I would hold my nose for Newt, but I will go third party on Rino Rudy. He is just to liberal for me.

To: Howlin
People need to realise the importance of this election. Quite simply - what's more important, victory in the War on Terror or gun rights? What's more important, effective leadership of Western Civilisation or gay marriage? I have very little sympathy for those who would throw the leadership of the Free World to Hillary just because they're afraid Rudy is going to take away their Uzi (would never happen, but never mind). Rudy may annoy you. Hillary will get you killed.

I am confident that Rudy will get at least 2/3 of the base if not most of it. He will easily get the INDY'S and the middle, even take whats left of 'conservative - pragmatic' Democrats too.
A lot of DEM'S can not be to happy with the DIM's leftest leadership right now.

"...Such a faith, though gratifying, is bound to be disappointed. If conservatism means being decent and patriotic, then of course, nearly all Americans are fuzzily conservative. But that doesn't tell you much about how they vote, which in recent years has been in roughly equal numbers for Democrats and Republicans. The notion that a steady conservative majority exists, waiting only to be activated by the right Republican appeal, thus makes for bad GOP strategy. It lures Republicans into thinking their job is easier than it is, by disguising the hard truth that victory still depends on persuading, not merely reminding, a crucial segment of the electorate to think conservative and vote Republican."

Guns and abortion are my two top issues. I will not vote of any Presidential candidate that is on the wrong side of these.

Fair reply, but I wasn't asking if mmilitary experience was a prerequisite, I asked what about Giuliani made him the more "for the troops" than someone with far more experience in that regard.

Look, I'm just not the same kind of voter you are; the war on terror trumps everything for me; if you don't have that, nothing else you may value matters.
