Yes, Rudy Giuliani Is a Conservative
City Journal ^ | Jan.25, '07 | Steven Malanga

Personally, I prefer Tancredo although I admire "America's Mayor," and this article sheds some light on Rudy's little known conservative and courageous accomplishments.

What are they posting that stupid picture for?

Well, if he's the nominee, you might as well get used to it. DemonRats will turn it into Rudy's 'Dukakis Moment.'

as Barbaro has of winning a Triple Crown

and Barbaro is taking the big dirt nap now...
It isn't so much that most people aren't conservative, it's that people are conservative on some issues and liberal on others. IMHO most people do not identify specifically as conservative or liberal, they tend to vote for who seems reasonable- and for whom they think will win.

I have faith that anyone who considers themselves a conservative, would vote for ANY of the candidates including Rudy.

Exactly. Which should tell anybody who's reading these threads exactly who AREN'T conservatives!

And they seem OBSESSED with gays; and you know what THAT usually means

I have only heard, in the annals of crime, that people who are criminal homophobes are usally latent homosexuals. I have only read that though.

Oh, man, that can get you drummed off FR lately; we're all suppose to march in lockstep now, haven't you heard?

My babykilling candidate?

#1. I've said repeatedly I like 3 candidates, so you can cut the lying about "my" candidate.

#2. Reagan signed what at the time was the most liberal abortion legislation in the nation which opened the floodgates. What does that say about him? Oh, sure, he regreted it later. But we still ended up with 2 pro abort SC judges.

I don't "have to" vote for anyone. I won't vote for Giuliani or McCain. However, you supporters seem to think you will have millions of wishy washy moderates and leftists voting for Rudy with you, so it doesn't matter how we vote, right?

You made a claim "I sure speak for more than he does." which is a lie. As you can see, nearly 3 time as many freepers supprt a Hunter candidacy over those who support the abortion-loving Giiliani, the camp you purport to speak for.

"Which makes me wonder why some of these people are trashing like their lives depended on it!"

Because they feel there lives do depend on it. I do not understand this fear they harbor.

I'm getting a lot of honks!

I'd put up a thread supporting him but I'm not sure the Malcontents have enough posters to attack him, too; what with Rudy and Mitt, they might spread themselves too thin!

***Because you KNOW they will attack Fred Thompson if he runs.

Feb. 5, 2008, may become Super-Duper Tuesday with, perhaps, Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, Delaware, Florida, Illinois, Missouri, New Jersey, New Mexico, North Carolina, North Dakota, Oklahoma and Utah voting on the same day..

Think about that. That means that some obscure nominee will just be able to go to IA and NH shake some hands and come from nowhere.

They will need an entire national ground game and close to 100 million to buy radio and TV ads within a few months.

They have to make the ads ....hire thousands of people..pollsters...consultants...the logistacs in this time constrant are staggering.

There are 5-6 people in the country who can pull that off. Rudy,Romney,McCaine, Hillary and maybe Obama, Colin Powell,Edwards.

They front loaded the primaries. It's pretty much game over. Unless Rudy runs as a liberal...which we know he won't..or pulls a Dean Scream...he's to smart for that...game over.....only Romney could keep up...and he's not so bad. McCaine is too damaged and old. So be of good cheer.

I'm thinking about throwing the towel in on these threads. I don't need the hassle when I am damn sure of the outcome. I'll keep posting articles on poll results but debating folks in denial of the facts is a waste of time.

Did you read the lawsuit carefully and did you live in New York City at the time? I don't think so. What Rudy did for NYC was totally right for the time and IT WORKED FOR NYC! I lived there and I still live there. Actually Bloomie is still reaping the benefits of Rudy's war on crime.

Unity is required to defeat The Witc

I checked DU the other night and was surprised that so many of them ... who claim that they dislike Hillary since she voted for the war ... are stating that they ned to get behind one person. As much as they are cretins they seem like they know what it takes to win an election.

We don't

It seems I've seen when these rules don't get enforced another time. Oh, yes, now I remember. It was when the word Nazi was thrown around a gazillion times. During the Schiavo debacle.

You say,

"The issue is IF Rudy is the nominee will he get ALL of our support.

"Those that have the best interests of this country in mind will have to say YES."

I think the problem that acquiescence and enthusiasm are both forms of support. If Republicans unenthusiastically acquiesce, and the 'Rats turn out as usual, you get a repeat of 2006. (and Hillary/Obama/some other Maxist totalitarian to be named later.)

If Rudy is the nominee, the money I usually contribute to the Republican Party will all go to the NRA. If Rudy convinces them he deserves it, maybe they'll give him some. I hope that's all the support he'll need.

That's not it at all. Supporting a candidate who is not a conservative (Giuliani) doesn't represent the mission of FR though.
