Many skeptics continue to question whether Rudy Giuliani is serious about making a run for the White House, but it was abundantly clear on Saturday that he had come to Manchester for more than the sub-freezing temperatures.
Addressing over 500 activists at the New Hampshire Republican Party's annual meeting as part of a two-day swing through the state, Giuliani sketched the broad outlines of what looks like a presidential run. Sounding at times like a motivational speaker, Giuliani cautioned against cynicism and pessimism in the wake of November's election results and challenges in the ongoing War on Terror. The message especially resonated with the audience in this critical primary state, where the Republican Party just lost control of both chambers of the legislature for the first time since the 1870s.
"The best way we remain safe and we retain our freedom...is remaining on offense, remaining strong and not becoming weak in a time of pressure," Giuliani said in a line that drew the biggest applause from the crowd at the Palace Theater.

I am truly curious how you think someone from the far left of the GOP on so many issues can hold the party together, especially when HE has not shown himself beholden to party loyalty, such as his endorsement of Cuomo over Pataki in 1994.
I also am curious how you think Rudy will be able to withstand the impact of his bagage. Recall that there were rumors of Bush dancing on a bar naked in 2000. Those never materialized.
Rudy, however, has ample images in drag. I don't think that's a big deal, but the Dems will be able to use 526-type groups to run those images time and time again to supress social conservative turnout.
And for the moderates, they will bang on Bernie Kerik like a cheap cutlet to diminish Rudy's strengths on the WOT.
So Rudy not only won't be able to hold the base together, he will also hand to the Dems the hammers to hit him with.
If we learned anything from John Kerry in 2004, having plenty of money will not win the election if you have baggage that writes the commercials for the other side. Methinks you truly are deluded into thinking Rudy can win just because he is drawing a lot of money right now.

I didn't imply any such thing. I was attempting to show the logic of the remark when it was made in respect to many previous statements.
On a personal note I really don't care about FA at all, one way or the other.
$500 is a bit to rich for my blood these days, but $100 I could do, if I had not already donated it to Duncan Hunter this month. As I will do each month until he wins in 11-08.

Rudy Giuliani has more in common with the old Rockefeller-wing of the GOP, then he has in common with the conservatism of Ronald Reagan. Rudy will not win the GOP nomination. Social conservatives will reject Rudy come primary time.
Unfortunately, Giuliani's own background has shown he does just that...

I do care about a number of issues, I just rank them in order of importance. The war is #5.
Who specifically wants the Rudy supporters to leave FR? Passionate differences of opinion are what makes this site great.

Have you read the Rudy threads lately? Most of them are telling us that we should not be posting because Rudy is a liberal and this is a conservative forum. I think this issue should be solved once and for all.
I think you misssed the point. It's more about supporting candidates who are not conservatives on a conservative website.
You keep telling Rudy critics they shouldn't post on Rudy threads.
