Many skeptics continue to question whether Rudy Giuliani is serious about making a run for the White House, but it was abundantly clear on Saturday that he had come to Manchester for more than the sub-freezing temperatures.
Addressing over 500 activists at the New Hampshire Republican Party's annual meeting as part of a two-day swing through the state, Giuliani sketched the broad outlines of what looks like a presidential run. Sounding at times like a motivational speaker, Giuliani cautioned against cynicism and pessimism in the wake of November's election results and challenges in the ongoing War on Terror. The message especially resonated with the audience in this critical primary state, where the Republican Party just lost control of both chambers of the legislature for the first time since the 1870s.
"The best way we remain safe and we retain our freedom...is remaining on offense, remaining strong and not becoming weak in a time of pressure," Giuliani said in a line that drew the biggest applause from the crowd at the Palace Theater.

Funny thing about FR.
If you post an opinion, you should be prepared to defend it.
If you make insulting posts (such as saying Rudy's critics should back Edwards), you will get that thrown back in your face.
If you can't handle the heat, don't start a fire. On this thread, you had an ally say Rudy's critics were KKK. That is a truly pathetic post, but unfortunately happens much too often from your side. Is my side perfect? No. However, we at least are making topical critiques of Rudy. You seem to wish only to prevent such from happening.
Rudy is not a conservative. He is at the far left of the GOP. Some of us believe that he would rift the GOP in 2008, and that is why we are opposed to him. Nothing more, nothing less. If you think that you should be able to push Rudy as a nominee without critical feedback of your positions, I would suggest you start your own blog or forum where you control the commentary.
What evidence leads you to believe that Rudy Guiliani would be the most effective Commander in Chief? I sure haven't seen any.
When the next president takes the oath in January of 2009 do you believe we'll still be fighting the war in Iraq? No matter how things go from here I can't imagine we will be.
Debate is good - I have no problem with that. Telling Rudy posters they should not post here because Rudy is a liberal and they don't belong here is not debate. That is what is going on here. You guys are getting what you want - why not leave it at that and enjoy it? Don't keep riding it into the ground - you did that enough already.
Please show me where I have ever said that. I don't also see JimRob saying Rudy boosters cannot post any longer on FR either. He was simply stating the obvious, as many here have - that Rudy is NOT a conservative, that he will have a very hard time holding the base, he will have a very hard time holding up to the Dem attack machine, and Rudy threads should NOT get special protection from critical comments as a result.
You seem to want to create a bubble around your Rudy threads. It's a big, bad internet, and if you want to create a blog or forum for that, more power to you. I'd even read it from time to time if it had any interesting info.
But FR is a CONSERVATIVE FORUM. That means that Conservative Views are the reason most are here, and that we EXPRESS OUR OPINIONS about the posted subjects.
We weren't the ones claiming opponents were Klan, dude.
Clean up your own side's house before you bitch about ours.
Check out the poll on this site. Rino Rudy is down almost 3 to 1.
Rudy's VIEWS get slammed with impunity. I know this might just be a difficult concept to grasp, but usually, on a conservative website, one can slam LIBERALISM without fear of sanction from the management.
And your side dishes out the manure in heaping helpings. Don't whine about a flame war when you bring your own gasoline to pour on it.
Or posting the vilest porn I've EVER seen on Free Republic.
I have been told many times that I should leave this place because this is a conservative forum and Rudy is a liberal and if you look on the past Rudy threads you will see it. Don't try to spin it around. What are you afraid of? The truth? Let Jim Robinson decide since you guys like Quoting him so much. I think since he's the owner, he should decide these things. I respect him and his opinion.
Who did that?
Don't go away, it's been fun! FR is all about spirited debate, and we've had plenty in the last 4 weeks or so!
Duncan Hunter is gaining traction, Rino Rudy is losing more adn more as people find out how liberal he is. There is still a year and alot can happen.
I've had plenty of people tell me from time to time that I should leave the forum. Grow a thicker skin.
What are you afraid of? The truth?
My gawd. You have repeatedly asked that Rudy opponents NOT BE ALLOWED TO POST on Rudy threads with their information that backs up Rudy's liberal positions. AND YOU SAY WE ARE THE ONES AFRAID OF THE TRUTH?
I guess all one has to do is call anything they don't want to deal with or don't want to hear *liberal* and say it can't be talked about(s).
But that is NOT conservatism. Nor does it further conservatism. It will set it back.
I'm going to sit out now and wait to hear a response. I think Jim Robinson's owes that much.
PSYCHO-FREEP - right here in this thread. It was beyond disgusting. The post got pulled after about 45 - 60 minutes despite people banging on the abuse button.
