Many skeptics continue to question whether Rudy Giuliani is serious about making a run for the White House, but it was abundantly clear on Saturday that he had come to Manchester for more than the sub-freezing temperatures.
Addressing over 500 activists at the New Hampshire Republican Party's annual meeting as part of a two-day swing through the state, Giuliani sketched the broad outlines of what looks like a presidential run. Sounding at times like a motivational speaker, Giuliani cautioned against cynicism and pessimism in the wake of November's election results and challenges in the ongoing War on Terror. The message especially resonated with the audience in this critical primary state, where the Republican Party just lost control of both chambers of the legislature for the first time since the 1870s.
"The best way we remain safe and we retain our freedom...is remaining on offense, remaining strong and not becoming weak in a time of pressure," Giuliani said in a line that drew the biggest applause from the crowd at the Palace Theater.

Are you promoting a liberal candidate or furthering a liberal cause?
This from someone who made two bald-faced lies about Duncan Hunter.
I think what you REALLY want is a place to spread manure in peace without anyone coming up and saying it stinks.
And when he comes in 5th in Iowa and New Hampshire, and pulls out of the race, will that be more a commentary on Hunter's inability as a candidate, or a commentary on the current fecklessness of the "conservative base"? Again, as I posted earlier today, conservativism doesn't win on ideology alone. There needs to be an attractive candidate, a leader who embodies the conservative ideology, whom people (not just self-identified conservatives) will follow. I'm not saying Hunter isn't that person, but no one can assume that simply because a candidate is conservative they are a shoe-in.
I'm sorry, I do not understand this. Could you elaborate for me. Thanks.
I guess when Hilary wins she will already have the china and place settings....Does she have the curtains also?
Go back and look at Free Republic polls on page one.
Hunter supported by 34% of Freepers
Giuliani supported by 59% of Freepers
Maybe I'm reading it wrong.
Do you want 59% of Freepers to be banned?
Same here.
It was the same in 1999. Primary season is a full-contact sport.
Who the heck called into question your credentials? I asked why you guys spew the phrase this is a conservative forum not a Republican forum and we are conservatives not Republicans. I don't see you jumping down those freepers throats who say that. No its because they don't like Rudy that you feel they are correct and I am wrong. It's all about Rudy not about who's who in what party. Admit it - that's what this all boils down to. As long as we like Rudy we are not good enough - first I'm not a conservative now I'm not a Republican. Yeesh!
I'll bet they don't match the carpet. She had the carpet removed around the time of the vince foster slaying.
Would you post on FR if you were not allowed to support your candidate of choice?
Here is some logic for you, why spend all your time here, right now I prefer Rudy, if he doesn't run (not likely) I will take a much more intense look at Hunter et al. Be positive and support Hunter with Hunter threads and get your word out. I have been to Hunter threads they don't get a lot of traction , you give my candidate all the publicity I could possibly want and it doesn't matter that you have gone negative, visibility is visability. I haven't seen the entire community walking away from him here after like a week of BASHING (you know your version of liberal 'fact' finding).
You are welcome to continue I think it is ultimately going to back fire on you even if Jim Rob unloads Rudy threads, which I think would be counter productive to Free Republic.
Latest FR poll:
If the short list for Republican Nominee were narrowed down to the following, which one would you favor?
Duncan Hunter
31.3%
Newt Gingrich
24.6%
Rudy Giuliani
13.2%
Tom Tancredo
11.3%
Undecided/pass
6.8%
Mitt Romney
6.3%
Ron Paul
5.4%
John McCain
1.1%
Voting for a candidate being run by the Republican party.
A huge numbers of Freepers support Rudy.
You just got handed your lunch. Deal with it.
But maybe you can redeem yourself by responding to my reasoned question in Post 1128.
Check it out here:
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/browse
Rudy gets only 13%. I don't get where you come up with 59%.
We are learning some interesting things in this thread, no?
In the latest FR poll, where you pick your one favorite candidate, Hunter has 37 percent of the freeper vote to Rudy's twelve.
So Rudy is only in third place here (Newt is well ahead of him as well).
Not that I see that as any reason to banish Rudy boosters from the site. It just gives an indication that his support isn't too broad here.
59% for Rudy and 34% for Hunter.
You cited a poll that went up this morning.
But even if it is true, should 13.2% of existing Feepers be banned?
It is just my opinion that it should not be so. If any one has to resort to personal insult, then it shows the lack of depth to their argument.
Surely, one can argue for or against a candidate without resorting to such tactics?
