Bush: happy for Cheney's gay daughter pregnancy
Reuters ^ | 12/15/06

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Vice President Dick Cheney's pregnant lesbian daughter Mary will make a "fine mom," President George W. Bush said, sidestepping his past comment that a child ideally would be raised by a mother and father.

Mary Cheney, 37, and her longtime partner, Heather Poe, are expecting their first child, which would be the sixth grandchild for the vice president. Cheney was hired last year as an executive for America Online.

"I think Mary is going to be a loving soul to her child. And I'm happy for her," Bush said in an interview with People magazine.

Awww is that ALL you have to throw back at me? "DU is where you come from"....really orginal there Francis....kinda funny too given that it's NOT true in the SLIGHTEST.

Besides your authoritarian crap that you and others have thrown around on this thread would fit in PERFECTLY with the DU'ers.

You talk a bad game and then you try to silence me or something (and it won't work) because you DON'T have a comeback except to accuse me of being a DU'er.

I guess that means I won. Har har har.

Lots of words, no substance.

You want the government to peek into our bedrooms and determine who can have sex, how they can have sex, who can and cannot have babies.

If you can't see that you want to set up a controlling theocracy that is counter to the liberties and freedom of this nation, then you really need help.

Like I say, you always know when you are winning, they accuse you of being from DU, or a liberal, or go crying to JR, or opus several times and come back, or start spouting bible quotes.

Bottom line, they want to be able to discriminate against someone because they don't like what they do, they don't want liberty to be equally applied to all citizens, and they are bothered by the fact that they can't exert control on someone in the bedroom.

Freud would have a field day with these folks...

You are part of the new Rosie O'Donnell wing of the Republican party who equates the Christians with the Taliban?

Or maybe the Michael Jackson wing?

I'm an atheist... BIOLOGY defines who has children, not perversion...

Freud would have a field day with these folks...

Was Freudian psychoanalytic theory of sexual stages in psychological development more accurate than accredited?

The Michael Jackson Complex is fixation on mutilation of and deviance with human anatomy in the media. It is a social psychosis catering to the lowest common denominator and generated with Pavlovian behavioral conditioning in popular culture.

Should we really be canonizing special societal privileges in the law based on idolatrous fetishes? Disability, welfare, Social Security, etc., etc., ad nausea...

The social psychosis generated by behavioral conditioning (Pavlov's salivating dogs) in the popular culture and the conditioned response to accept the false premises of mental illness or birth defect will be used as a political tool to systematically rob the public purse.

Then, we could have other self-inflicted mental illness and disease (aside from those we already do) subsidized by the government consolidating an ever increasing portion of the economy in the hands of the cultural Marxists.

Just words Francis, no actual thought behind them.

You are impressing no one with your babble.

You just want to control people, and when you can't you want the government to control people, and when you can't, you can always take the EV cowardly way and try to get JR to control what is said here.

I'm off to work, do try to calm down.

The English common law that proscribed "buggery" was part of the common law of all states via actions of the legislatures of the post-Revolutionary or newly admitted states. The harsh punishment (execution) was subsequently modified by legislation, but sodomy remained illegal in all 50 states until 1962. Under the influence of modern liberalism and its attempts to detach law from traditional morality, many states either repealed the penalty or the state courts overturned the statute. Following the Lawrence v. Texas U.S. Supreme Court ruling in 2003, the laws in the remaining states (mostly Southern or Mormon influenced) were overturned.

If a state that has sodomy laws is a theocracy, then were all 50 states theocracies prior to 1962?

These are your exact statements, EV. They seem to say that you believe people do NOT have the *right* to do anything that you, as a Christian, consider to be *wrong*. That is so similar to what the Islamists say. They say that people have no free will and that they must be *forced* to live according to Islam - or be severely punished or destroyed. Here are your exact words:

God is the Judge.

But He also tasks human beings to fulfill certain tasks in this world on His behalf...for the benefit of those He created. Human government is His gift to help restrain fallen man. This is what the men who built this republic believed, and it is what I believe. Like them, I'm a Christian and a republican. – Post #687

Here's one more for you: The demand for what God calls an abomination, and which has throughout history called down wrath on every nation that allowed itself to be overcome by this depth of depravity. That's right CS, I believe in the God of the Bible, and I believe that he judges nations as well as individuals.

And when our own President acts as if immoral behavior is acceptable, and even a positive good, this republic is in grave danger. – Post #691

You only have part of the picture, unfortunately. You neglect the fact that no one has the right to do wrong. You may have the power to do so, but not the right. – post #695

Wrong. Folks like you just think you have the right to do wrong, because you fail to reverence God, or acknowledge His ultimate sovereignty. – post #702

You have the ACLU's vision of what liberty is.

The Bill of Rights, to them, includes the *right* to abort babies, euthanize the elderly and infirm, publish and propagate porn, make merchandise of women's bodies, erase the borders, fill our young people's bodies with drugs, keep felons free to spread mayhem, theft of the people's substance through every conceivable means of taxation, etc...but never can it be read to include the right to religious speech or even thought, political speech or activism that doesn't agree with their marxist agenda, self-protection, property rights, or the right to life.

Arguing with them is exactly like arguing with you and your friends...largely a fruitless exercise. Which is why I equate you with them. There is no discernable difference.

See, there's your problem. Because of your bigoted viewpoint, you make leaps of "logic" that are in fact illogic.

In your zeal to smear me, and any committed Christian, in fact, you dishonestly project views on people that they don't hold and that they haven't expressed.

I'm giving you a lot of chances here to make clear what you mean. If you do NOT mean to say that no one has to the *right* to do wrong. Please correct the above statement.

If you DO mean to say that no one has the *right* to do wrong - then my perception of your words is correct and you are expressing a view that is similar to the Islamists in that you are expressing a view that you believe people have no *right* to do anything that *you* believe is wrong.

Alright then. I have given you more than enough chances to clarify your position. You have not. So what you have said stands - and you are arguing that non-Christians have do not have the *right* to live by their own belief systems. You are taking a stand similiar to the Islamists - in that you will not acknowledge the *right* of others to do what you believe is wrong - even it is perfectly legal.

You have once again shown yourself to be an extremist. Now you show yourself to be a dangerous one.
