Mary Cheney, the vice president's openly gay daughter, is pregnant. She and her partner of 15 years, Heather Poe, are "ecstatic" about the baby, due in late spring, said a source close to the couple.
It's a baby boom for grandparents Dick and Lynne Cheney: Their older daughter, Elizabeth, went on leave as deputy assistant secretary of state before having her fifth child in July. "The vice president and Mrs. Cheney are looking forward with eager anticipation to the arrival of their sixth grandchild," spokesman Lea Anne McBride said last night.
Cheney, 37, was a key aide to her father during the 2004 reelection campaign and now is vice president for consumer advocacy at AOL. Poe, 45, a former park ranger, is renovating their Great Falls home.
News of the pregnancy will undoubtedly reignite the debate about gay marriage. During the campaign, Mary Cheney was criticized by gay activists for not being more publicly supportive of same-sex marriage. Her father said people "ought to be free to enter into any kind of relationship they want to" but deferred to the president's policy supporting a constitutional amendment banning same-sex marriages. Cheney herself called the proposed amendment "a gross affront to gays and lesbians everywhere" in her book, "Now It's My Turn: A Daughter's Chronicle of Political Life," which was published in May.
Cheney has described her relationship with Poe -- whom she took to last year's White House dinner honoring Prince Charles and Camilla-- as a marriage. The two met in 1988 while playing ice hockey and began dating four years later. They moved from Colorado to Virginia a year ago to be closer to Cheney's family.

More from Goldwater:
"Mark my word, if and when these preachers get control of the party, and they're sure trying to do so, it's going to be a terrible damn problem. Frankly, these people frighten me. Politics and governing demand compromise. But these Christians believe they are acting in the name of God, so they can't and won't compromise. I know, I've tried to deal with them . . .
There is no position on which people are so immovable as their religious beliefs. There is no more powerful ally one can claim in a debate than Jesus Christ, or God, or Allah, or whatever one calls this supreme being . . .
...I'm frankly sick and tired of the political preachers across this country telling me as a citizen that if I want to be a moral person, I must believe in 'A,' 'B,' 'C,' and 'D.' Just who do they think they are? And from where do they presume to claim the right to dictate their moral beliefs to me?
. . . I am warning them today: I will fight them every step of the way if they try to dictate their moral convictions to all Americans in the name of 'conservatism.'"
Unfortunately, Goldwater lost this particular battle.
"So, you're against all artificial insemination, or only those done on Lesbians?"
When mom takes dad's sperm and it is artificially inseminated because for some reason it couldn't or wouldn't happen otherwise is fine by me. But when there are two moms and unknown/removed dad involved, it seems a bit selfish to me. It's like their lives are unfulfilled and they must drag in some poor child into their, for lack of better word, perverted lifestyle.
The same goes for two gay men. At least neither of them can bear child. That's a plus. But here again, when their lives are still unfulfilled, they must drag some poor child into their perverted lifestyle. That to me is selfish.
I could care less regarding gays and lesbians and what they do in the privacy of their home. But when they attempt to legitimize their alternate (abnormal) lifestyle by dragging a child/dren into the relationship in attempt to fulfill some sick selfish void of theirs, that is where I draw the line. Innocent children should not be brought/forced into alternate lifestyles...
That IS funny!
why is it that gay women look like men most of the time - why just not marry a man - thats why its a sickness or deficient chemicals within.
It's very wierd. They so often go out of their way to be ugly. There is one where I work that would be cute if she wasn't doing her best to be ugly. I think it is rebellion against everything God defined about male and female roles. It's pure witchcraft without the actual spells.
Hawk P. Tooey
They should not be having children through artificial insemination. The child was suffer by being raised by 2 dykes.
So Mary Cheney is going to be a mom and Heather Poe is going to pretend to be a mom.
Oh crumbs!
Have you ever read the bible? If so, then you already have the answer to your question. If not, then you probably should do so. Then you'd have the answer to your question (and a host of others as well).
Note: I'm being facetious. I've read your other posts, and you obviously do not believe scripture. Therefore, providing any citation to you would be a waste of time.
Ah, thus the reason Goldwater lost.

... " hey , Howlin , NYC is it's normal , crazy-mess for this time of year , I'm lookin' both ways , even when I cross OneWay streets !" [LOL!!]
Yeah, you could call it Lebensborn!
</BitterSarcasm>
It quite simply should not be legal. A culture which values its own survival does not permit such things. But we are not destined to survive the way we are heading.
Those arguments are tiresome. All of these examples are bad for kids and society must tirelessly work to combat such situations. Don't fall for the GLAAD propaganda.
can we get some pics of some pretty les-bianns?
