I hope they have a healthy baby and wish them well.

Congrats to Mary. I think she's just darling and I don't care what anyone thinks of my opinion on this.

I hope people here can muster some common decency and show a little of the dignity and class the Cheney family demonstrates.
Decency and class would have meant that this birth was kept on the down-low, instead of broadcast in the WAPO.
There's nothing decent or classy about bringing a child into a sick relationship without a father and then proudly boasting about it in the media. It's a disgrace.

I think that the majority of conservatives still want to stay out of bedrooms. They don't care what people do in their bedrooms, but they think that same-sex marriage and adoptions, by gays, should be illegal. These actions don't involve bedrooms, since not many people get married in a bedroom or adopt in a bedroom.

Yup. This is it for me on FR. Republican Party site this is, but it's not conservative. Too many pro-aborts, for starters. While fiscal conservatism is always respected, this fawning praise of Mademoiselle Cheney exemplifies that most forum members relegate social conservatives to the extreme fringes of the party. This is a great site for news and current events. It's a nice place to vent, too, but that's not spiritually satisfying. Living life by being faithful to your values and the people you love is the way. So I'm out.

Must be difficult for Dick Cheney sometimes.
I don't think so. He's been in Washington so long, any sense of conscience he may have had has been long since cauterized.
DC is the place where common sense and decency go to die.

They could have simply adopted me and avoided in advance all those problems with teen pregnancy, skateboarding chemicalized skinhead youth, homeschooling versus private school, high car insurance, childhood diseases, and on and on.

True, but you skipped over the part about "private lives."
Doesn't have to be in the bedroom to be none of our business.

No legislator is going to be the first to stand up and propose laws that prohibit women from trying to become mothers. In Afghanistan or Iran, I'm sure such laws are already in place.

The Bible contains more than the words of Jesus, often highlighted in red letters. With regard to homosexuality or other sexual immorality, start with the second half of Romans 1.
To: 2ndDivisionVet
They are open homosexuals in public.
Homosexuality is ONLY about sex.
They put their homosexual behavior in public.
their sex lives are public.
Its part of the homosexual fetish to be public.
Also society has a vested interest in promoting the father of the child and the mother of the child form a family unit. This "union" is only about their sexual gratification. The child has nothing to do with Mary Cheny sex partner other than the mental damage the child WILL be cause in the homosexual environment.

There should be laws requiring only married NORMAL couples have access to artificial fertilizaiton clinics. Define,"NORMAL". How far back in ones history do the "deciders" of "NORMAL" go back? Two years...20 years....6 months? Is it ever up for review? Do we continue to test for the "normalcy" of the parents throughout the raising of the child, and then take the child away from the parents if they no longer meet the definition, whatever that definition may be?

Romans is by Paul. He was not a disciple, and never met Christ. In it he recapitulates Old Testament theology.
When did Christ speak of homosexuality?

You either believe the whole bible is the divine word of God and should be treated as a whole not just pick and choose the bits you want or not.
