I was listening to Fox News and the guy speaking for the police clearly said that the shooting did not start until they started their asult. Those were his words.

Okay, I'm going to scream. It said he let the adults leave. How can an adult leave little children alone with a psycho? Am I the only one thinking this? This is such horrible news but I just don't understand how you leave little children with a psycho?! Okay, just upset about the whole thing.

the Amish do have phones, situated in booths at the end of their driveways. They look like port-o-potties. They also use cell phones(teenagers that is). Was a bit surprised to see a bunch of teens yakking on cell phones outside of the Farm Show Complex in Harrisburg this spring when attending the Home Builder's Show.

Sruck me as an odd way to put it for a first time poster considering the nature of the thread That's perfectly understandable.
Good Lord, what terrible times we live in.

Thanks for that information.
Q---> "Was he divorced?"
Q---> " Does he have children?"
If yes ...?
Then I would ask the question did he payed/owned child support ?
There's been numberous shooting and killings and I am finding that many of these killers/shooters have have these things in common.
Just one pc of the puzzle.
Don't know the details, but I would add these questions to the investigation's to come.

Many prayers for the innocent victims and their families -- and all the children of the school - and all the families hurt by this act of evil.

Jeff, it's a one-room schoolhouse with one female adult teacher. If the teacher had a gun, it probably would NOT have made a difference if an adult man stormed into the building with a shotgun - she never would have had time to go for her weapon.
There is a time and a place for 2nd A activism. Just as we don't want the Brady Bunch vampires to make political hay out of this, we also should refrain here, given this was a rural one-room school with one teacher.

WRONG, WRONG, WRONG!!!!
The police at their press conference never said such a thing, so if anyone is reporting anything other than that, it's pure crap.

I feel the same regarding Pandora's box. I could in a way understand the motivations of the killers in Colorado and Wisconsin (CO - sicko pervert, WI - revenge), but this today is way beyond my realm of understanding in any sort of way... How someone could do this to those little girls and to their community - of all people to target...
Lord have mercy on us all...

Good point. Very good point.

Why do you think that? We don't know whether the shooter is a member of this community or not. And what's up with your tagline?

Where in the world are you getting the completely incorrect notion that Amish people don't use firearms and consider them evil? They tend to be a peaceful group and they do possess firearms. I was misinformed. I looked it up, and you're right. Amish do own guns. However, don't Amish believe you can't kill another human being with guns, even in self defense?
To: anyone
I'd like to send a card as a show of support to that particular Amish community. Anyone know where I could address it to?

Exactly!
But at least I'm always glad when these scumbags kill themselves.
It spares all of us the excruciating long process of booking and trying the !$#$!@#$, in a fruitless game of gutless plea-bargaining leading to paying for them to sit in a nice prison where they can watch TV while working out and learn about the Koran.

Find Stasburg, PA in Lancaster County. Follow Rt 896 to the ESE from Strasburg and you'll see the small town of Georgetown. This happened just north of Georgetown on Mine Rd.

This is as horrific as anything that has ever happened in this country, not in its magnitude, but in the sheer level of evil exhibited.

Exactly. The press conference made clear the sequence of events. They did not storm the building until after he had started shooting. And each time it was repeated, it was exactly the same. I've even got it in Tivo.
