I never heard of Meatloaf, and truthfully, I hope I never ever hear about him again. Goodness gracious!!!

SJ, thanks for the great AI threads this season..I read them the next morning, because I haven't figured out a way to watch the show, watch the Mets AND Yankees games, and Freep at the same time...
One advantage of that approach is that you can sometimes pick up things on the thread that get overlooked. There's a WIDE range of divergent opinions about all aspects of AI, but these gems from last night kind of sum up why the thread is sooooooo much fun....
#9237, at 9:49:47; rwa265 to Wolfstar
"It feels like it's been four hours already.."
#9262, at 9:52:01, two minutes later...Fawn to Wolfstar
"I enjoyed the whole show tonight..I wish it was 4 hours..."
Which proves conclusively that Wolfstar
a) Has a split personality, or
b) Works and plays well with everyone...
Prayers for Tammy and her family. She is missed.
And now, if I may, a suggestion on the only way possible to follow up on this thread, and all things AI..
Now that the age limit has been raised for next season, surely there is ONE Freeper on this thread who is willing to go through the auditioning process, either because they think they have talent, or for the humor of the experience..I'd be more than willing to kick in a few bucks to covering that person's expenses..I'm sure we could raise the whole $$ to cover travel, motel, meals, etc for a few days, if that person were willing to blog here on the experience..
Think about it....

I thought Alfie was the best song sung by a person not Taylor!!

LoL. My 12 year old said "who's meatloaf" and I said "some singer from the 70s or 80s"...what a different choice for Katharine. Maybe he is a friend of the family.

Geraldo? What's the deal with him?

"I'm still laughing over the Pickle spitting the snail out into her napkin and putting it under her chair! I like that little girl...."
I agree. I really enjoyed that segment - it was so funny. I think she is adorable and even if it was acting with Wolfgang Puck and the strange food, she is very good. In a group of singers she stands out because her personality is so cute. I think it would be the same in a sitcom. The camera loves her.

IMO, that whole thing was a big turnoff. Got the show off to a weird start.
Reminded me of Michael Moore! LOL

I am just now reading through the thread..:) Did you see Taylor and Tony Braxton towards the end of the song she backed into him to dance and he pulled away from her. It looked like she was pulling him in to do the ho dance and he just jumped back. I was so proud of him. The "entertainers" they brought to the show last night were not as good as the idols. :) With the exception of Live and Carrie. Hmmm, maybe because money and all the garbage has gone to their heads.
To: StrictTime
Taylor took his hand away from her waist when she tried to pull him close? He knows that that wasn't appropriate.
We saw that too! I was so proud of him! She made me ill trying that garbage.

You're welcome :) Thanks.

Who put Prince in the final program, and how much money changed hands to give him a platform on Idol. There were rumors that Prince was going to be on earlier in the season--a "Prince night" where the Idols would perform his songs. But the deal fell through.
I guess somebody talked sense to Prince and he finally realized what a money-making opportunity this could be for everyone.

Kat was a bigtime phoney and should have been off of the show weeks ago. The final should have been Chris and Taylor.

It's obvious Taylor can not sing sappy, but it appears that's exactly what AI is gonna make him do...Too bad. Why? He chose In the Ghetto during Elvis week. I thinks its too early to what AI will make him do.

Local news reporterette interviewing Chris after last night's show. She asks him about performing with Live: "The highlight of my life. They're the band that inspired me to write."
Where do you see your career going?: "Hopefully to the top. Hopefully it lasts a long time." (He smiles--he has offers, but he can't talk about them yet)
He says he'll finally get to go home, but only for a week, then he has to get ready for the tour.
About Taylor: "He definitely deserves to win. I love him like a brother."

(Meat Loaf) He looked and sounded like a dirty old man singing to the pretty young girl with whom he has no shot. Yep. It was kind of sad. (And more than a little weird.)

I was wondering, do you think that was really Rhonetta? Her face didn't look like her to me. No--LOL That was clearly an impersonator :)
