KAT PACK!!! I'll never understand how people could like Taylor (other than the Southern factor, which makes no sense to me, since Idol is hardly lacking winners from the South). Kat was the better singer. Tonight just demonstrated that oh so well. She'll go far. I can't wait to see her on Broadway!

A really great part of Taylor winning was being able to share it all with freeper friends.

you should be here in Mobile....the local Fox station is doing nothing but Tay Tay....interviewing his family over at Lulu's at Gulf Shores (owned by Lucy Buffett, Jimmy's sister)....then heading over to another joint where they're having a viewing party....folks in South Alabama are HAPPY!!!! My phone has not quit ringing - friends from all across the nation are calling to listen to me scream....I LOVE TAY TAY!!!

Awww...you are the sweetest. Me lovey you right back. This is the most fun thread on FR. I've said it a million times and I will say it again, I look forward to the thread more then the show.
Free Republic has some of the funniest people I've ever met. I am so glad I have been able to meet and get to know some of the regulars.
99% of us will never meet each other face to face, but I am happy to have you all in my lives via FR rather then not at all.

that's not true....clay said he realized Ruben won because he looked over Ryan's shoulder and thou he could not see exactly what it said, the name looked (Ruben Studdard) looked longer than his (Clay Aiken).....they do not let them know prior to the announcement...

Because Taylor has "IT". I'm old enough to remember Elvis and a lot of people said he was a terrible singer but there was something about him that you cannot take your eyes off.
