Yes the ending was SO much better. I think I heard Nick La????? wrote his song, Jessica S. ex. The words were good, I didn't like the arrangement. But Taylor did make it better in the end.Couldn't remember how to spell Nick's last name. Taylor Hicks - "Do I Make You Proud" written by Tracy Ackerman, Andrew Watkins and Paul Wilson

Did I tell you that a couple of weeks ago I went to see a high school musical in B'ham? It was called Seusical. The kids were unbelievably talented. Any of them could be in the next AI and do well. There was one girl who reminded me of Nadia in style but she could belt out the high notes with ease.

Mornin', Hetty! (Oh no--I just realized this is your final West Coast Wrapup for this year :(
His final song was a fairly wretched song (though not as bad as Kat's), but Taylor performed it with conviction, and considerable energy at the end. He took a bad song and made it sound pretty darned okay. Is that the mark of an Idol?
Absolutely! I said to someone else that if the songs were switched, McPhee would have still sounded terrible. I shudder at the thought of Taylor being shackled to "My Destiny", but I have no doubt that he would have done a better job with it than McPhee.

("Bad Day") Over/under on how many people audition with this song next year? Ugh! I can see an entire montage of hapless contestants trying to sing it next year. But it would be a dumb choice--thanks to Idol, that song is equals failure.

When Taylor finished his song, I wanted to hear it again (yeah it was sappy and schlocky, but it fit the moment).
When McPhee finished her song, I was just glad it was over :o
