The only question left is who will be in the finale with Christ.

I think you meant Chris, but I definitely want to be in the finale with Christ too :)

'American Idol' finalists visit Graceland

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) -- Calling Elvis Presley America's "first idol," Priscilla and Lisa Marie Presley welcomed the finalists of "American Idol" to Graceland amid cameras and screaming fans.

The Presleys and the finalists were at the rock legend's home Saturday to shoot the TV show's next installment with an Elvis theme and a critique by music producer Tommy Mottola. The show will air Tuesday.

Priscilla Presley said the show's presence at Graceland was appropriate because her late ex-husband shared many of the "Idol" contestants' experiences.

"Elvis, too, had to audition," she said. "He was laughed at. He was basically booed off stage. He had to struggle with the fact that he came from very humble beginnings and didn't have opportunities to have others experience his talent."

Contestants Chris Daughtry, Taylor Hicks, Katharine McPhee and Elliott Yamin waved and took pictures of the yelling crowd as their sport utility vehicle inched through the mansion's gate.

Nearly four years after its debut, "Idol" continues to rule the ratings. It has attracted 25 million to 33 million viewers each telecast this season. The winner will be crowned May 25.

Priscilla Presley, who with her daughter had lunch with the contestants, said she's been a fan of the show for years.

"I think it's a great thing. I love the fact that these are people from all over the United States who probably would never have had the opportunity to be in this position," she said.

Was there a reason why your 'kindness' couldn't have included a 'real' image of Covais? He's the only one from the top 12 that you left out and replaced with a cartoon.

Yeah, they can all sing...What I mean is paid music dues, been there done that, worked very hard, sincerely understands the soul of music.

Come'on you've got to admit Taylor is not going to be some "IDOL" star, especially if he truly gets back to what he's really all about. He's a musicians, musician, to really show his talent, Taylor has got to make the most of what's in him, not what AI wants to make of him.

It really doesn't matter, they're all basically "Idols" now...These four have made if they want it.

BTW, Great pics, thanks!

That's true of anyone. Though you're right he is a musicians musician, writes his own material, plays instruments.

Taylor has got to make the most of what's in him, not what AI wants to make of him.

This was the same concern some had last year with Carrie Underwood. She's clearly Country, but they thought she would be forced to sing pop songs on her Idol album. Instead, not only did she make a Country album, it became the fastest selling debut album in Country music history.

The Idol folks aren't stupid. If Taylor wins (and even if he doesn't, he'll still probably be signed by Idol) they won't push him to sing songs he can't sing.

I agree with you that Taylor just doesn't fit the image of "American Idol. This isn't a knock on his talent, it's just that I think, for example, Taylor would be a much better show in a venue with smoke in the rafters than a 15,000 seat convention center. He seems to be much more of a performer for an intimate setting, and that doesn't really mesh with what the folks at 19E are trying to sell.

I don't know if we'll reach 10,000 posts again with this thread, but according to my public school mathematical calculations, whoever hits post #3921 will be our

30,000th
Poster!

Now that will surely deserve a special prize ;)

Great point! He will do his genre and be popular in that market. I'm just referring to the show in general not what happens after, but you are certainly correct.
