The exotic dancer who accused members of the Duke University lacrosse team of raping her at a party may have been slipped a date-rape drug, according to an interview with the second dancer in the May 1 issue of Newsweek that appeared on stands today.
Newsweek also reported that a defense attorney said some DNA evidence had been found under the accuser's fingernails, but that the first round of DNA testing - which did not incriminate any of the 46 players swabbed - was inconclusive about identity. Results from a second round of tests are expected this week.
The accuser, a 27-year-old black college student and mother, said she was raped and beaten by white students on March 13 after performing for them at a house party. Two lacrosse team members, Collin Finnerty, 19, of Garden City, and Reade Seligmann, 20, of Essex Fells, N.J., were charged Tuesday. Defense lawyers have maintained their clients' innocence, offering a detailed timeline and time-stamped photos from the party that they say throw the woman's story into doubt.

$imeon is preparing for civil $uit$.
He sees Roberts's case as an opportunity for him, too. "I will be there for her if and when she decides to pursue legal remedies on her own behalf," he says. And he wants to put together a team to represent the alleged rape victim in another civil suit, in order to, he says, "help make her whole."

I think it's really odd that this DNA test would take so long, but I haven't seen anyone question it in the media. My friend Kimberly Guilfoyle was overjoyed last night that there might be DNA from the 5 fingernails. At least she didn't scream "Stand up and be a man" again.
Something I read on one of the threads this weekend made me wonder: Why did Reade not get picked up in front of 610? Is it a one way street?

The way I see it $imeon sees this case as his meal ticket. In exchange Nifong gets $imeon's support and his black supporters from his failed DA run.

"I feel like he preyed on my naiveté," she told NEWSWEEK. "I don't want someone to play me like I'm stupid." A little late for that.
To: sissyjane
I should have added $imeon's failed run for DA.

Yes, I hope this two bit lawyer tries to grapple with the attorneys for the players. How is is Kim going to sue anybody after that email to the PR firm?
I hope the player's families counter sue.
It's not like Kim was dragged into that house, she went to strip. Nothing was done to her, besides some names being called, and I am sure she called some right back..heck she probably started it.

"I don't want someone to play me like I'm stupid."Now it's the media's turn to be played imo!

Some of the drugs of choice are chemically close to PCP. They are quite hypnotic, AND you remember. We know an individual who was subjected to such a drug.

No, it's not.
But I think they were just walking. Really don't know why.
What makes Kimberly think there is going to be DNA from those five fingernails? They're already been tested and there was nothing there that matched these players.

Newsweek article says the results of the nails were "inconclusive".

Again, not all drugs have the same effect. One of the drugs of choice is chemically close to PCP. It is also very hypnotic. You can get someone to believe anything, particularly if this is mixed with alcohol.
If not, you get a violent outburst.
We know a young person who was subjected to such a drug.

DNA under the nails was tested the first time and they were inconclusive. I doubt the new test will yield anything matching the players, and especially the ones indicted.
To: Neverforget01
Now you know that that means they didn't make ANY of the lacrosse players.
In this case, "inconclusive" means "we can't get it to come out like we want it to."
