The exotic dancer who accused members of the Duke University lacrosse team of raping her at a party may have been slipped a date-rape drug, according to an interview with the second dancer in the May 1 issue of Newsweek that appeared on stands today.
Newsweek also reported that a defense attorney said some DNA evidence had been found under the accuser's fingernails, but that the first round of DNA testing - which did not incriminate any of the 46 players swabbed - was inconclusive about identity. Results from a second round of tests are expected this week.
The accuser, a 27-year-old black college student and mother, said she was raped and beaten by white students on March 13 after performing for them at a house party. Two lacrosse team members, Collin Finnerty, 19, of Garden City, and Reade Seligmann, 20, of Essex Fells, N.J., were charged Tuesday. Defense lawyers have maintained their clients' innocence, offering a detailed timeline and time-stamped photos from the party that they say throw the woman's story into doubt.

Put me in the 61% group that there will be no 'real' case. I think the DA took an impaired and aggrieved person's word (the AV) that a crime happened and is running for his political life. The AV meanwhile, is over her head, thanks to bad personal choices and family and friends. However, that doesn't mean the university won't try to get its pound of flesh with regard to the status of their LAX students when this case fizzles.
And put me in the 28% group with regard to defense attorneys. It is best to keep things close to the vest.
I have to ask--what is a T lie?
Holy smokes.
They realized they couldn't prove that, so they made this up hoping everyone reading it is as stupid as they are.
Oh.....dear me....have I made a mistake?
Well, yes, I did! Not only did I give a link to possible alias for KIM, I didn't read the link! Birthdates are different!
Now, I'm humiliated. ~sigh~
All personal info in your military file will not be released unless the person signs the form....you can file under the FOIA but unless the form hasn't been signed you will not get it....
The way I have always heard the expression since a small child is, "Pure D lie" but I don't know what the "D" is either.
"she said that was a "pure T lie"
I have to ask--what is a T lie?"
T = total
Oh, good! I was wondering....LOL. My misread.
Damned lie?
The AV was reported to be under the influence of drugs after she auditioned to strip at a club, which was why she didn't get the job. Was she drugged at her audition as well?
I'd like to see a timeline on Crystal from the time she got the 8:30 call from Allure to arriving at the house 30 minutes late. What was SHE doing then and where was she and w/whom? In light of the controversy over her state on arrival, I certainly think this is relevant......was she or was she not inebriated or under the influence of drugs is the question about her.
I suppose it could be. I just have no idea because I was so young when I heard it.

I'm sure the defense team is working on that as we speak...
Well there's (everyone together now):
Liars
Damned Liars
and
Statisticians
I'm sure the defense is all over where the stripper was before the party began. And hopefully they've called whomever dropped her off to find out what condition she was in. Not that I expect her associates to know the truth from a hole in the wall.
Can't wait to watch Abrams tonight at 6:00 because it sounds like new information has come out since last Friday.
In order to answer that, we'll need to know if Collin Finnerty was eating Mexican food at the time.
Even if she had drugs in her system, it would not be evidence of rape.
