The exotic dancer who accused members of the Duke University lacrosse team of raping her at a party may have been slipped a date-rape drug, according to an interview with the second dancer in the May 1 issue of Newsweek that appeared on stands today.
Newsweek also reported that a defense attorney said some DNA evidence had been found under the accuser's fingernails, but that the first round of DNA testing - which did not incriminate any of the 46 players swabbed - was inconclusive about identity. Results from a second round of tests are expected this week.
The accuser, a 27-year-old black college student and mother, said she was raped and beaten by white students on March 13 after performing for them at a house party. Two lacrosse team members, Collin Finnerty, 19, of Garden City, and Reade Seligmann, 20, of Essex Fells, N.J., were charged Tuesday. Defense lawyers have maintained their clients' innocence, offering a detailed timeline and time-stamped photos from the party that they say throw the woman's story into doubt.

Could be, and there could be a "third party" in this. Numerous other Freepers have noted that it is frequently the case for exotic dancers to take along "muscle", discretely out of sight, in case of problems like these. Has anyone querried the escort service on the matter?
There is a report that Crystal was drinking or drugging with people before she arrived. Fox had the guy on and he said he talked to people who were with her before she went to the LAX house.
She was only able to perform for 3-4 minutes. One pic describes her prone on the floor

It was a former police detective and he said he spoke with his sources inside Durham Police, and they told him they have talked with people with whom the accused was with before the lax party and they confirm she was very intoxicated.
Best you spend some time reading about date rape drugs, then consider what's publicly known about this case in light of what happens when those enter the picture.
You'd be more sympathetic, I'm sure, if you'd ever known someone who was victim to these things.
And I suspect the same for some on the side of the DA. Because even with a documented timeline for Reade S., they are now claiming that he was raping her in between cell phone calls, otherwise that would make Miss Crystal wrong, if not a downright liar.

You're left out that Crystal was dressed in skimpily, and wearing one 6" white shoe.

If there was any evidence of Crystal being drugged Nifong would have included that in the indictments. Surely tox screenings come back sooner than his never ending DNA test.

Sometimes you have to work with the only witness you've got ~ unless some of the other people at the party want to start filling in the details.
If you look at the shoe lying on the floor, it has about a 2-inch platform. I can't wear 4-inch heels, but some women can.
