The exotic dancer who accused members of the Duke University lacrosse team of raping her at a party may have been slipped a date-rape drug, according to an interview with the second dancer in the May 1 issue of Newsweek that appeared on stands today.
Newsweek also reported that a defense attorney said some DNA evidence had been found under the accuser's fingernails, but that the first round of DNA testing - which did not incriminate any of the 46 players swabbed - was inconclusive about identity. Results from a second round of tests are expected this week.
The accuser, a 27-year-old black college student and mother, said she was raped and beaten by white students on March 13 after performing for them at a house party. Two lacrosse team members, Collin Finnerty, 19, of Garden City, and Reade Seligmann, 20, of Essex Fells, N.J., were charged Tuesday. Defense lawyers have maintained their clients' innocence, offering a detailed timeline and time-stamped photos from the party that they say throw the woman's story into doubt.

I haven't seen much concerning the money trail but I'm sure the prosecutor has someone on that. In fact, we haven't even heard who "paid", if at all, and when.

Do you suppose that the time in between, she tried to dump her somewhere else, but realized she would need help? I, once upon a time, had friends that were strippers, and they would NEVER accept a beverage from a customer at a private residence. They did at the club if it came directly from the bartender or waitress. They had "bouncers" also that went with them to private parties, and they would not accept drinks either.
One of my stripper friends, though, could NOT dance without being under the influence of something (usually high) and told me that most dancers did drugs to really help them become more uninhibited. (Scary thought, as if writhing around naked isn't enough **shudder**) I believe that Crystal was already lit when she arrived, and that stumbling around on one 6 inch platform shoe proves it. Then she [supposedly] knocks over her drink because she's tipsy and snarfs down her cohort's drink? Sounds like someone with an alcohol problem to me.
I think the standard is "probable cause". If you called the cops about a wino lounging in your car would you expect them to run a check on your warrants?
Many Freepers discussed this discrepancey and Dukie07 believes that if the cabbie left Edens (12:41) and went straight back to 610, he would have been there before 12:53, heard Kim arguing with the guys and everyone left.

That's how four guys from the University of Minnesota basketball team got away with raping a girl in Wisconsin (Madison, I think) back in the 80's. With the first player, it actually WAS consensual - with the other three, it wasn't, but with the collapsed lung they gave her, she couldn't do much towards fighting them off. I originally believed the AV in this case, but her story's completely melted down.
That looked like a supposition. Earlier threads even questioned whether or not Kim made the first call, or was it really the other dancer, or maybe a third party (given that the rationale for the call was at such odds with the later portrayal of events).
I get the feeling that some of the folks here are so much in the player's corner that even a full, feature-length video of the event would not be warmly received.

There is a report that Crystal was drinking or drugging with people before she arrived. Fox had the guy on and he said he talked to people who were with her before she went to the LAX house.
She was only able to perform for 3-4 minutes. One pic describes her prone on the floor.
