Elderly Couple Hospitalized After Cops Raid Wrong House

HORN LAKE, Miss. — An unidentified elderly Horn Lake couple were hospitalized Thursday after police burst into their home thinking it housed a methamphetamine laboratory.

The incident occurred Wednesday about 4 a.m., said police Capt. Shannon Beshears. Beshears said it was the right address but the wrong house.

Beshears said a heavily armed Tactical Apprehension Containment Team stormed the house.

"We had good information from a reliable source that had been backed up by a purchase of narcotics linked to the address. However, when we arrived at the designated address, there were two houses on the lot. We hit the larger of the two houses.

"It was the wrong house," Beshears said. "The house was totally dark and the TACT members went through to the bedroom looking for the suspects."

A man and a woman — both in their 80s — were injured as TACT team members secured the house although no drugs were found. There were children in the house also, but they were not awakened, Beshears said.

That was only a small part of my quitting,

HAW, you were talking as if that is what "made you" quit. Can't even bellyache straight.

So he should be held to a higher standard than those just entering a house of two people? He entered the house of several million. Who is more wrong? The interpolate the arguments here GWB should be in jail along with his cabinet and all of the military as they "kicked in the door" on his word. Does anyone see the parallel here?

The SWAT team was not at fault for the bad intel, just like our boys/girls in uniform. If it is proven that they mistreated the victims ( just like if any one soldier/Marine/sailor/airman is found to commit war crimes ) they should be charged.

Which is it?

And for those wanting to try and deviate from this question and read into it and chase geese, I support the President in his action.

That belly ache was over 7 years ago. I never said "I quit because I was under-appreciated", shoot I get that at home every day. I said it was one of the many smaller reasons along with the allure of greed.

I notice on your bio you list John 14:6. My favorite as well.

Along with Psalms 27:1 and Jeremiah 29:11.

OH, I see, it's for the children then??

You have displayed all across this thread your 'thug with a badge' 'us against them' 'just following orders' attitude. Then you have the rocks to compare a kidnapping of a child to a 3am drug raid that produced no results, injured two octogenarians and completely destroyed any future attempt at busting the real drug operation. Which, a few hour delay or a reschedule might or might not have caught the real bad guys red handed.

Every Leo on that team should get jail time, followed by a citizenship 101 course, followed by banishment from the LEO community, followed by monetary restitution to the injured home owners.

As in any military organization, illegal orders are required NOT to be followed. Unless of course being a LEO means breaking any and all laws to protect yourself from your own incompetent leaders as well as the bad guys.

No one on that 3AM drug raid had the brains to question the continued operation after realizing that the targeted home was a questionable one. That makes them criminals with a badge, or complete morons on a mission, and with no civilian authority questioning any of it, it's policy by brute force.

You can't defend these actions without sighting policy. The policy stinks. But being you wear the badge, no one will ever get in your face and tell you otherwise. How can they, their home could be mistakenly raided next.

'OOPS' is not the answer the public wants to hear. But 'OOPS' is ALL we hear.

There have been criminals that have mascraded as SWAT teams on their home invasions/robberies. The real problem is that this style of home invasion has increased recently. With the availablity of SWAT equipment, it is easy for any criminal to equip himself to look like a SWAT operator and to get the Nonlethal weapons components (peppergas, Tasers, ect). All they need is the guns (Black Market here).

Even the feds (and most professional PD's)knock before entering, and ID themselves before knocking down the door, even SWAT teams.

I still think that it was the officer who gave the bad information who is at fault, not the operators.

You have yet to condemn the police who roughed up the old folks. When does that happen?

You insist all the blame lies with the one guy who got the warrant.

I insist that the guys who roughed up the old people should be held liable for their own actions.

You have yet to answer the same question I have asked you four times. Why should I answer any of your questions?

I was assigned to a Fed task force for a couple of years, they knock and wait for about 5 seconds and then go in. Is that knocking?

I know many feds and not all are as wholesome and professional as you think. The old adage, absolute power corrupts absolutely, the feds are more powerful than any state or local agency and have better resources. One of the most powerful people around is a U.S. attorney and his/her power to indict and sieze property on very slim evidence.

I do not recall a big discussion when they were after the mob bosses and listening to their phones and kicking in their doors or todays terrorists. I guess it ws okay then, right?

B.S. Idiot. Coward. JBT apologist. Dick. Just plum run out of words.

Of course the "officers" on the entry team are at fault.

You break into the wrong house and bust up and old man and his wife and it is not your fault?? What are you, a 9 year old who broke a lamp or something??

An 80 year old lady could not possibly pose a risk to a team of body armour clad heavly armed men in their physical prime. Hope the lot of them are fired.
Imagine how bad the old guy must feel not being able to protect his wife, probally what got him hurt.
Glad they didn't accidently kill the old folks, guess the jury is still out on that though.

I have answer that question in 3 posts. Prove they were injured by officers and charge each on involved. Now on 4 posts.

I have never in any post defended any officer who purposely or malicously injures anyone. Ever.

"We saddle up" OOOOOOOO you "saddle up"

Arrogant creep.

You don't "saddle up" so you can "go cowboy" on a couple of 80 year olds.

Why don't you just admit they made a mistake and move on.

Anything else is just blind, stubborn, stupid aggorance.

I guess you were perfect for your job though, huh??

I got no answer to my questions either.

To 42: The suspect you were apprehending was what? A murder? Serial killer? Terrorist? A drug dealer that would have no turf to protect if not for the war on drugs and in all probability wouldn't be a drug dealer if not for the WOsomeD.129

SWAT goes where it is asked and has the lawful instrument supporting that position.51

Nazis tried that: "I was just following orders, doing my job.", at the Nuremberg trials.143

"Prove they were injured by officers and charge each on involved".

From the article: "An unidentified elderly Horn Lake couple were hospitalized Thursday after police burst into their home thinking it housed a methamphetamine laboratory.
A man and a woman — both in their 80s — were injured as TACT team members secured the house although no drugs were found. Beshears said the woman received a dislocated shoulder and the man received bruised ribs. Both were taken to Baptist Memorial Hospital-DeSoto, but both asked police not to identify them".

Exactly how did you think they got injured during the bogus raid? THEY FELL DOWN?

Why don't you wake up?

You are getting more obnoxious and assinine all the time.

My only mistake is not making a house call to you, I am taking into consideration your lacking mental capacilty to engage in a conversation with going south, but you probably like south end of things. I can insult too. Easy to be tough in California. I guess you fit in with the Same sex crowd okay.

This thread has just lost its allure. I am sorry to all those wanting to debate further I will not answer anymore posts thanks to tuffy here.

Here's a novel idea. How about before you go busting in the doors of this house in either of your two scenarios you check to see who lives there first?

Or are you going to do what the idiots in this story did and just bust in anyway?
