NEW DELHI, India (CNN) -- Praising India's expanding economy, President Bush warned Friday that fears about job outsourcing to other nations should not prompt the United States to limit global trade. "It's ... important to remember that when someone loses a job it's an incredibly difficult period for the worker and their families," Bush said in a speech in New Delhi. "It's true that some Americans have lost jobs when their companies move their operations overseas," he said. "Some people believe the answer to this problem is to wall off our economy from the world through protectionist policies. I strongly disagree."

I just hope the Republicans are smart enough to avoid your kind of country club attitudes.
Watch out for irate, unemployed Dutch engineers! You should be ashamed of yourself.
You're funny....and transparent. So how many "white guys that don't speak Spanish" work for you?.....LOL! What do you do, pick "white guys" off the street or are you so filthy rich that you demand they come with resumes?....LOL! Is your maid typing for you as you sleep or are you, as the class act you pretend to be, nocturnal? And Lastly, why rub shoulders with us lowlifes, unless you want to influence our opinion.....try to respond without slapping the crap out of the abuse button...
Obviously, you feel NO obligation to following FR's posting rules ( no profanity nor cuss words, yet you've used the same non allowed word at least twice now ), so why should I believe that you feel anything much, including "obligation" to America?
Did you serve in the military? If not, then this conversation is at an end; since you proved that your so-called "obligatory" feelings towards this nation, are a sham.
Your position loses elections, loses wars, and does a disservice to this nation.
Did you? Get off your high horse.....you are one of the most pitiful and belligerent posters on this forum, and I believe you are posting from a shack, not a mansion.
Military service? Well, when and in what branch did you serve? And were you drafted?
I wasn't aware that the word "God" was regarded as profane.
Frankly, I thank God every day that I was born in the USA, by God.
God bless the USA.
And God bless us, everyone.
Amen.
Frankly, I don't care WHAT you think or believe. But, just to keep things honest and above board, would you be so kind as to CCP the post, where I said that I "live in a mansion"? :-)
It is patently obvious that your projection complex takes precidence over all eles.
Oh, so you did NOT serve in any branch of the service. So your "sense of obligation to this nation" doesn't include any actual OBLIGATION at all. Just as I thought! :-)
Darn straight. Tell your handlers that YOU are PO'ing more people than the time and effort are worth, then go drink a beer with MNJokie (still MIA notice) and laugh about how you were outed......
protectionist policies are not beneficial for the working class.
Uhhh, I don't know....duhhhh. Perhaps when you said that you have a maid and platoon of "english speaking" gardeners....you dug your own hole, and frankly I call BS...
You want to pretend you have money, no prob.....but at least have some understanding of the realities, mexican gardeners are a dime a dozen, and the good ones speak English. White gardeners usually come with a resume and you get to pay for their travel from Europe......then you get to pay them real money, and it isn't $4.00 an hour.
I'm off, big thunderstorms. We'll argue later. Regards.
And I said that my gardeners are white, American, and speak English, because they do. If I hadn't said that, I would have immediately been accused of hiring illegals. LOL
I dug nothing; OTOH, you have, long ago, shown exactly what and who you are.
Americans don't speak English, only the English speak ENGLISH"?
Gee, Canadians speak ENGLISH; so do Australians and New Zelanders and the Irish and even most South Africans.
Is that what you pay the boy who mows your lawn? LOL
Look, you and I both know that you aren't being series; you just want a flame war, you really don't care about any of this at all.
Nope, YOU will hurl insults and irrelevancies; that's all you ever do.
Nah, but it sure makes them feeeel better. It's all about 'feelings', don'cha know?
You point out some of the solution but ctdonath2 expands upon it.
We don't need isolationism, we need to eliminate socialism.
Take a look at what percentage of one's income goes to taxes. Then look at the minimum wage laws, and other financial losses most companies must incur by law just to stay in business. On top of that add unions which mostly just demand more pay for less work. Result is: the cost of doing business in the USA is so high it's cheaper to send it elsewhere.
Unfortunately, socialism is getting so ingrained, and is so complex, that it's far easier to call for isolationism - which is just another form of socialism.
Don't just call isolationists ignoramuses, explain why socialism is the problem and why isolationism is just protecting/reinforcing socialism.
The thread could have easily ended there but many of differing opinbions and varying levels of economic and political sense joined in and decided to fight.
I joined the thread late and read it all before responding. I know MNjohnnie's opinions so I felt a need to lend support.
Absolutely. Trade is done between individuals and companies, not countries. Governments can set up the legal processes and procedures and they can either facilitate or interfere, but they don't trade.
