Profile of Natalee Holloway

Missing: Natalee Holloway participated in a trip with 125 seniors from Mountain Brook High School to Aruba in the Caribbean. In the early morning hours on May 30, 2005 Natalee was seen leaving a nightclub and getting into a vehicle. She failed to turn up Monday morning for her return flight home and she has not been seen since. Foul play is suspected in her disappearance.

Profile: Natalee Holloway was born on October 21, 1986 to Beth and Dave Holloway. She grew up in the close-knit community of Mountain Brook, a suburb of Birmingham, Alabama. She was very popular and respected by her classmates and had a reputation among peers at being very intelligent and focused on her future. She lived up to her reputation, graduating as an honors student from the Mountain Brook High School.

Extracurricular Activities: During Natalle's high school years she participated several extracurricular activities including: The American Field Service - A club which interacts with the foreign exchange students. Dorians Dance Team Future Business Leaders of America Mu Alpha Theta - Math honor society Natural Helpers - A peer based emotional support group. Outdoors Club Spanish Club Spanish Honor Society Spartan Pride - School pep group. TASC - Teens Actively Serving the Community

Future Goals: Natalee received a full scholarship to the University of Alabama. She planned to major in Pre-Med, in order to pursue her goal of being a pediatrician.

PAUL REYNOLDS, UNCLE OF NATALEE HOLLOWAY: I know that my sister had a meeting with the FBI June 10, Friday. And from that meeting, she became convinced that Natalee was no longer alive. She called her mother and told her that. And our family was—was—began the grieving process.

You know, we were told the report would come out the next day. Later that night, we saw the reports that confessions had been made, that something bad had happened. Shortly thereafter, it was retracted. The next morning, there was a report that said Natalee was confirmed dead. And these reports came from the deputy commissioner. They came from the spokesperson from the Ministry of Justice.

And then, all of a sudden, these statements and these confessions just disappeared.

ORANJESTAD, Aruba (AP) - Aruba's prime minister believes that authorities made mistakes at the start of the investigation of the Natalee Holloway case, a government spokesman said Monday.

Beth Holloway Twitty, who has often criticized authorities on the Dutch Caribbean island since her daughter disappeared on May 30, met in private with Prime Minister Nelson Oduber over the weekend.

``I think that he's in absolute agreement that the initial investigation has been so badly botched,'' Holloway Twitty said on NBC's ``Today'' show.

She said the prime minister also told her that Aruba needs to review the first stages of the investigation to find out ``who let this go wrong.''

"Government spokesman Ruben Trapenberg said Monday the prime minister had expressed concerns about the initial investigation, though he used more cautious language.

``The prime minister agreed that in the beginning the case could have been better handled,'' Trapenberg said.``He didn't say it had been 'botched.'''

NATALEE WAS NOT THE GIRL WHO WAS SICK IN THE BATHROOM AT C&C's! My daughter had already told me she was puzzled by that story 'cause she neither saw nor heard anything of the kind regarding Natalee. We were at the vigil yesterday and they were discussing that... It turned out to be other girls on the trip. Somebody had mentioned that at church and these girls went, "Oh no! That was US!" My daughter spoke with Natalee right after C&C's closed. My daughter & her friends came across Nat & Joran as all were exiting the club, and all were walking more or less together toward another group of classmates. Natalee was walking unassisted (not falling down drunk), spoke ok (though not answering in long sentences), and was not touching Joran. My daughter only noticed that Joran was tall, dark-haired, American-looking; he did not speak and she couldn't read his facial expressions. Nat turned down my daughter's invitation to go with her little group. (Ironically, they were about to circle the inside of another club to make sure no others were left behind.) Nat assured them that she was fine, and said she was going to go back to the hotel "with THEM," pointing to the MBHS group just a few yards ahead. The Kalpoes were nowhere in sight; neither was the car.

Next [my daughter] heard was that Natalee got into a car that many in the group had thought was a taxi. (Those look like regular cars.) It may be that the Kalpoes pulled up on the street before Natalee reached the next group; Joran may have deliberately stalled her. The group may not have even realized she was behind them, approaching. But while we hear that she got in the car willingly, we know from her comments that it was not her pre-planned intention. Because of this, I do not believe she knew she would be going anywhere but a fairly short distance down to the hotel. Her plans changed in the blink of an eye, and she was gone. Thats Dash's mom!

I am the MB mom quoted above. That post tells the entire story. The girl in the bathroom was NOT Natalee. The girl who was sick was also from MB & was forthright in setting that straight.
Also, on a thread here from Aug. 4, someone said it was her friend Alana who was sick in the bathroom. No, no, no. Alana is the one who encountered Natalee & Joran outside the club, who asked Natalee, "Are you ok?"

Btw, don't read anything into that statement. It's one anyone would ask a friend after leaving a bar. "Are you ok?" as in, "You're ok to get home, right?" Or if you weren't on a non-driving vacation, you'd ask "Are you ok to drive?" whether your friend looked drunk or not.

In this case, Natalee looked fine, except that her eyelids were heavier than usual. Believing that Natalee was OK & was about to return with other students, Alana & her two friends went to check on others.

So, the sick girl was not Natalee; the sick girl was not Alana; and Natalee appeared to be in decent shape at the time Alana spoke to her. We've been consistent in those statements all along.

Well, since you asked... YES. You couldn't possibly be more off base. You're certainly entitled to speculate, but your 1-2-3 theory is based entirely on fiction.

Natalee was not being alienated in any way. She is a lovely girl, well liked by all her peers. It does seem very strange that her close friends left her behind at the bar, but Natalee has SO MANY friends, and about 40 of them were there at C&C's, too. I imagine each of them thought another would be around to look after her, or anyone else who was still there. Meanwhile, some of her friends, for instance Ruth, may have wanted to return early to sleep or pack before the morning flight. Some might have wanted to party at the hotel instead. Some might have walked out just a few minutes before Natalee and said, "See you back at the hotel!" You figure about 4 teens fit in a taxi... They knew they couldn't all go back en masse. They had no reason to believe that between leaving C&C's & getting in a cab, one of them would disappear. Back at the hotel, the kids broke off in groups. Some at the pool, maybe some in the lobby... Some maybe on the beach. How late did the casino stay open that night? The point is, as has been stated before, Natalee would have been at ease with ANY of these groups. If she wasn't in her room, it would be thought she was elsewhere on the grounds. If she wasn't at the pool, well, that group probably thought she was with ANY OTHER GROUP -- or in her room. Why would any of them be alarmed, when so many stayed awake and drifted among friends and locations all of that last night? Why would any of her classmates assume that she'd been taken away from them? An event like this was unprecedented in Aruba. There would have seemed no reason to be alarmed, not until much later.

Again, you asked if your speculation was off-base. I do not mean to be rude in my answer, but nothing in the theory is accurate.

WRONG. The story from the beginning was that Natalee indicated she was returning with a group of MB STUDENTS. And everyone did believe she was getting in a cab. This was reported by me on one of the boards the very next day after we learned she was missing.

Sue, it's easy to get confused. Twice her friends did stop & talk to her & invite her to go with them. One was a group of three which included my daughter. Natalee was invited to return with them but declined, indicating that she was going with another group of MB students. Another boy said he invited her to share a cab, but she declined.

About the cab, I think some people are getting confused in thinking we're all saying that she wasn't with Joran. I cannot say for a fact, because I have not heard statements from the actual witnesses who saw her get in the car, but I believe she thought that she and Joran were going to share a cab back to the HI.

everything I have seen on the tube with the kids either directly supports this, or DOES NOT ATTEMPT TO REFUTE IT....AND WHAT I'VE SEEN THAT DOES NOT REFUTE IT IS ONLY THE KIDS WHO DOn't EVEN CLAIM TO HAVE BEEN WATCHING DURING THE FEW SECONDS AT THIS JUNCTURE....a controversy has been conjured and exploited wrt these few seconds that just doesn't exist, IMO.
