Missing: Natalee Holloway participated in a trip with 125 seniors from Mountain Brook High School to Aruba in the Caribbean. In the early morning hours on May 30, 2005 Natalee was seen leaving a nightclub and getting into a vehicle. She failed to turn up Monday morning for her return flight home and she has not been seen since. Foul play is suspected in her disappearance.
Profile: Natalee Holloway was born on October 21, 1986 to Beth and Dave Holloway. She grew up in the close-knit community of Mountain Brook, a suburb of Birmingham, Alabama. She was very popular and respected by her classmates and had a reputation among peers at being very intelligent and focused on her future. She lived up to her reputation, graduating as an honors student from the Mountain Brook High School.
Extracurricular Activities: During Natalle's high school years she participated several extracurricular activities including: The American Field Service - A club which interacts with the foreign exchange students. I'd like to know why Jurine is STILL in the Juvie section???? I'd also like to know WHY he hasn't been interrogated for TWO FULL WEEKS now????? These are the important issues, NOT a tour of the prison.

Just because the Aruban cough, cough, Law Enforcement want us to think they are really "doing some investigating", doesn't budge me one millimetree from knowing that they are all hiding in the Rhubarb patch trying to "pass the required time"!! Well it looks like I'm talking to myself. I know y'all or most of you live in time zones 2 to 3 hours ahead of me. Rusty Roberts doesn't but it even looks like Rusty has called it a night. W: Strange in another way not, because of his temperament..when he doesnt get his way he gets very angry.
He even snapped/stepped? at his mother once. His mother tried to correct him once, he snapped/stepped? at her.
K: Did he try to hit her?
W: No, not really hit her, just used a lot of bad language
K: Did you see some of his temper in prison?
W: In beginning yes, with a policeman. But then afterwards, the policeman really roughed him up, cuffed him and took him to police station.
K: How did he act out at the police officers, what happened?
W: They came to pick him up and he wouldn't go. His father was just incarcerated, and he said no, he wants his father free then he would go.
I said no you have nothing to say, you are going. He said no, I am not going and went back to his cell.
Then they called from ?? said he had to go.
K How has he been now that he has been here a couple of weeks?
W: Now, he is normal, has no problems with no one. He has incorportated himself to the system.
K: How do you think Joran has reacted to not being able to see his parents everyday? Has there been any noticeable change?
W: Well, his parents called me and also the second man in command. He called the social worker that handles Joran.
To get some extra time visiting. She came to me, I said no to extra visiting time.
K: So, she thought he should get some special treatment?
W: Yes, he thought so..the judge..the judge to be.
K: How do you think Joran is doing in here, is he okay?
W: To my knowledge yes, but to him, he wants to go home. He is eager to go home I believe.

And they've done it, for the most part, with the megaphone provided by the cable news networks.
BHT's visit to the internet cafe/ Deepak Kalpoe is where I think they (BHT and NBC) really crossed the line...wading into witness tampering and attempting to bribe a witness territory.
But, it remains to be seen if there is even enough evidence to make this case prosecutable.
What has become increasingly apparent is that the 'news' in this case has the look of being scripted. Every week there is a different story line...one week it was 'Beth Visits Deepak', another week it was the recycled 'Natalee was assaulted/ raped' story, then 'The Searcher's Spar', 'The Incredible Disappearing Gardener', and this week, it's the 'Joran Interview' episode. Long ago this story left 'News' terrain and morphed into a soap opera/ mini-series/ reality TV 'show' with the 'news programmers' scrambling to extend the shelf life of what, for several weeks, has been appearing to be a cold case.
Exotic tropical backdrop. Somehow, I don't think there would have been the same enthusiasm on the part of the newsies if this had happened in Bismarck, ND.
I think your doubts are already proven wrong.
Lacy Peterson was headline news for months and that was without a bungled case from the start, intentional or not.
Look what it took to knock the Chandry Levy case out of the headlines. And several others in recent years have carried the headlines until they were resolved. Lori Hacking is one.
The internet's influence on news grows as the internet grows. Some might think it's a bad thing. I think it's a good thing.

Since you mentioned this, here is a case in point. My daughter went to high school with the currently missing girl in Columbus, maybe you have heard of this case, Julie Popovich? (I know we haven't really heard a lot about it, only little snips in between the Natalee debacle.) As a matter of fact, my husband knows her grandfather very well, he is a retired Columbus firefighter and just devastated. We even ate at the restaurant where she worked the other night, her co-workers are equally devastated. Did you know that they found her I.D. in an area around a water dam? No, I don't suppose anyone has heard that because they have been more interested in what Joran looks like in jail. Incidentally, Julie was missing for five days before they started the search. Does anyone think this could be a cover-up?
