I'm new to this thread and thus may have missed it, but I have wondered why, assuming that Father VanDerSloot gave the "no body, no case" advice as reported, he was so certain early on that there would be "no body" (or other material forensic evidence). The boy (and any accomplices) appear to have had only a few hours to dispose of any evidence of a homicide, if one occurred, and that without preparation.

I guess it's OK to interfere or obstruct and investigation, IF it's done effectively ---

apparently JVDS did an effective job --- he's out and only had to submit a statement to the pplice; his kid remains silent; and the other two are free.

Greta just mentioned the news cycle deal a minute ago on Fox, that J had a lie ready to go when he shouldn't have known that N was missing. She said this was a red flag for her, as it should be to the LE.

Joran claimed to some of the students at school the next day that he had sex with Natalee. There were a couple of other comments he made, but I don't remember at this time what they were.

Perhaps. Certainly it is likely that the suspects will walk. However, I did not think it was that easy (again, without some preparation) to dispose of a body at sea and be reasonably certain that it would neither be found nor "pop back up".

Yes.She said they had two witnesses who heard him say that.

Yes. They heard it from two witnesses who heard PVDS ay it TWICE. Then he changed his timeline by the time Greta and Beth visited his house...said it was 11 pm. Greta said it could have been 11pm AND 4 am...before and after the murder.

you'd think that someone in Aruba would have an idea about P.R. Sheesh, it's almost like they're trying to be obnoxious. Also is it any coincidence that after the segments on Natalie missing in Aruba I am starting to see ads for tourism to everywhere besides Aruba?

I noticed this the other night, it looks like tourism is pretty competitive, and the competition is jumping on.

I've seen ads for the Virgin Islands, Florida, even...Nebraska. Seriously, Nebraska.

I think the subtle message is "Come here instead of Aruba, have a good time, and we promise not to dump your body and cover it up".

Initially the Kalpoe's supported or told the same story as Sloot. They may have come up with that cover story for Sloot when they were still together in the car before the brothers dropped them off. They may have known he planned to rape her.

Such as, Sloot says, just drop me and Natalee off at the beach by the Marriot. I should be able to find a ride, if not I'll walk. If anyone asks, just say we took her back to her hotel and she stumbled getting out. She said she was ok and some security guard in black uniform was talking to her. And the brothers drive away.

The knock on the door occurs at 3 am. Their stories are already set and prior to a news cycle.
