I'm new to this thread and thus may have missed it, but I have wondered why, assuming that Father VanDerSloot gave the "no body, no case" advice as reported, he was so certain early on that there would be "no body" (or other material forensic evidence). The boy (and any accomplices) appear to have had only a few hours to dispose of any evidence of a homicide, if one occurred, and that without preparation.

IMHO her body is at the bottom of the ocean never to be found. The suspects will eventually walk.
