Natalie's mom, and I admire her grace untier pressure immensely..may have screwed this up by involving the US media a little to early....look.let's say the boys gave her liquor and drugs..all had sex with her..they say it waa consensual..maybe it was or wasn't..but they left hwer alive and screaming on the beach..they get offers of immunity for any crimes relating to drugs/rape IF they come in to take, and pass, a polygraph..

Natalee's relatives and friends have all reported that she was naive about men. Now that does not mean she was a virgin. That said, to imply a young inesperienced girl would have sex with 3 men even in a drunken state is not reality.

Big question: IIRC, there were two cars confiscated from the VDS home. Why wasn't Joran using one of those? On the eve before he was to graduate, why would his parents not have given him a set of keys for the night?

Why do MOST parents relinquish privileges?

in ewoither case, it goes to her mindset, and understanding her mind can help figure out what might have happened..

Why did the boys lie?..easy..say there was sex..with one or more of them..they say consensual...liquor and drug induced..she says rape..they figure they're in big trouble.. so they lock into a story...

So the boys get a big pass because there was sex and it's Natalee's mindset that makes all the difference? What exactly could we know about Natalee that would shed light on the current situation (with the exception that she has previously staged disappearing acts)? It's quite a stretch to dismiss Joran's lies with some Clinton like explanation (it's just about sex) while advancing the theory that the real treasure trove of information is in Natalee's pattern of behavior.

I agree, not even in a drunken state. But perhaps she passed out and then regained consciousness. That would create all kinds of problems for the boy(s).

Ken--about Natalee's classmates and roommates--IMHO they were all fairweather friends. Not a true friend amongst them. Especially the ones that appear on TV. Some of the girls appeared to be gloating in their interviews. Jealousy? Kind of an attitude of:"See what happens to the smart kids? Not so smart, was she? I'm smarter, I'm alive".

I read that Natalee only came to Mountain School District in 9th grade, having spent her elementary and junior high years elsewhere.

These other girls--the jealous ones damning Natalee with faint praise--have probably been tight since first grade, or at least junior high. Natalee was an outsider--a bright and beautiful outsider. The type that makes the home girls band together in their ignorance and envy.

Because Joran wasn't OLD enough to drive. Not that it matters on that island. But it may have been frowned upon at his private school.

..99% of those tourists would rent a car if one were available..

And if Aruba imports a couple hundred thousand cars, how much will it cost to park the car you rented & how much time will you waste stuck in traffic? IMO, the Arubans are smart to try to keep drunk tourists off the road and to keep traffic congestion at a minimum. Besides that, acres of asphalt parking lots next to white sand beaches is a picture that would suck.

OK..just reread my post..you're entitled to jump away..no argumentI was trying to condense what the guys would be expected to say..was tryign to avoid the cliche of saying it was a "he said (they said)/she said" situation.. it came out wrong..was NOT my intent..as should be apparent from my other posts on this thread..especially as I'm the father of two daughters..but I will preview and read any future comments before posting..Mea culpa..sorry..

WOW...one taxi per potential car-renting tourist? Holy cow. What's the problem with getting a cab then? And the guy who now owns a cab--what's he gonna' do? Leave the island and take his car with him?
