I don't think so.
Not with the wording like that on the stone. It's more of an in your face can I hurt you some more type of thing.
Schiavo (Big letters - she's mine not yours)
Teresa Marie
Beloved wife (she's still mine, not yours. not daugher, not sister. She's mine)
Born Dec 2, 1963
Departed this Earth Feb 25, 1990 (But you were too stupid to realize. From this time on she's breathing meat. A plant, as my lawyer called her.)
At peace March 31, 2005 (I gave her "peace", and you spent all your time loving a vegetable. Ha. I won. She's dead now. And the law backed me up, and you are left with your pain, after watching her die for 13 days. Oops. Silly me. She "died" back in 1990. We just sort of dried out the husk.
I kept my promise. (you and I both know there was no promise, being I remembered it so many years after the fact. But hey, it sounds so romantic.)
And everytime you visit this gravestone, it will push all this in your face, that Terri is mine, not yours, I controlled her, and when you defied me, I took her away from you. I tortured you in court. And I burnt her body and put her in the ground. Enjoy.
This is not a nice gravestone. It is mean and spiteful. And it was very carefully thought out, to inflict maximum pain. The fact it was put in Clearwater makes it all the more nasty. I'm surprised he didn't put it in their front yard.
This was not a kind act of a good man. It isn't. And I am not reading between the lines or guessing. This gravestone needs a captain obvious alert.
Your post says it all. Thank you..

![]() ![]() It's awfully sick of that b@stard Michael to have marked Terri's grave as 'departed this earth' on February 25, 1990. There must be at least 50 to 100 people who personally witnessed her being responsive in the last 15 years, including honorable priests, doctors who wrote in her chart she spoke, even Michael's 1992 attorney, and the 1992 Michael himself, and his girlfriends at the time. BUT I can give Michael credit for just ONE THING.

I don't understand why he did the dates that way. It seems like put that way it is just going to create more hard feelings.
As for the evil that is the supposition that if God had wanted her to live, He would have done something [miraculous} - honey...sweetheart... I really hate to tell you this but, there is a thief who died upon a cross who is looking upwards at heaven still wondering the same thing.
The inscription is Michael's own confession that he is as cold-hearted as people have said he is.
Psychiatrists must be having a field-day, interpreting his personality through the words he has [semi-permanently] put on exhibit, for all the world to see.
He's also proven he lied when he said he wanted to move on with his life.
That was a good post and I happen to agree that the entire gravestone is a bit tacky in some ways.
I don't like the "I" any better than you do.
In a different circumstance it might have been nice the way the dates were worded.
If he had been a loving devoted husband, the way that was phrased would have been very affectionate.
I'm not a Michael Schiavo cheerleader at all. The man is a jerk.
My point was that you guys had a massive, group hissy fit with just about every poster saying they were crying because he was going to bury her in Pennslyvania instead of near her parents.
Now that he has, there is NO acknowledgment that this is what the parents wanted.
That's hypocritical in my opinion. It shows a tenacity of hate that has made many lose all perspective and rationality.
