Terri Schiavo's remains buried in Clearwater
Sun-Sentinel ^ | June 20, 2005 | MITCH STACY

Terri Schiavo's husband buried her cremated remains in a Clearwater cemetery Monday, inscribing on her bronze grave marker that ``I kept my promise.''

David Gibbs, an attorney for the woman's parents, Bob and Mary Schindler, said inscribing the marker that way was a nasty political statement by Michael Schiavo, who held the service and burial Monday before telling her family.

``Obviously, that's a real shot and another unkind act toward a grieving mom and dad,'' Gibbs said.

After earlier announcing plans to bury his wife's ashes in their native Pennsylvania, Michael Schiavo instead interred them at Sylvan Abbey Memorial Park in Clearwater, near Tampa, his attorney, George Felos, said in a short news release Monday.

Terri "died" years ago

Oh? Is that why her HINO pledged undying love and caring for her, and gained 1.2 million dollars after the date he put on her grave marker as her death?

There is a lot more circumstantial evidence that MS may have had a direct hand in her collapse and wanted her dead for what appears to be nefarious reasons than there was against Scott Peterson. Peterson is sitting on death row!

A mom and dad who called MS a murderer. That can kinda sting a little bit.

Truth hurts.

So, from the way you say this, I assume you approve of what he had done? He starved and dehydrated her for 13 days! Are you aware of what you've just said? It sure sounds like you approve, I hope not! She wasn't dying, but she was after he pulled the plug! Maybe you should think over your post, huh? If you still say this after all that is said and done, you really scare me!

Besides, did you notice how he called her his "beloved wife"? How peculiar, did you know he had a mistress all these years, and was said to have already proposed to her; and was talking about all the money he was going to get when Terri died?

If he was so ready to move on in life, why didn't he see to let her family take over her care? They loved her too! In fact, in light of his behavior, he loved her all right, right into her grave! How noble was that?

It will come back to haunt him one day, and this other woman he married. I'm not sure I pity him much, though in time I might. I really pity those children he had with this woman! That's a strange way to show undying love for Terri! He hangs on to her for some strange reason, then hangs onto this other woman too. Is this fair to her and their kids?

I really wonder about people who talk like you! That you would have more sympathy for this monster than for the family that truly loved her through all of this? You all scare me!

What kind of husband would use his wife's epitaph to write about himself.

Michael would have been better off not burying her in FL where all the "supporters" will now parade to, giving Terri no peace even in her grave.

What in the world are you talking about, "giving Terri no peace"? She's DEAD. And if you were on Michael Schiavo's side, didn't you share his opinion that she was effectively dead for years already, not being cognizant of anyone or anything?

What you really mean, IMHO, is that YOU are unhappy that her grave didn't remain hidden from people who didn't want to see her killed. So sorry happy to disappoint you.

The ghouls are loud but weak--don't let 'em scare you. It is best to ignore them, as they are sadists.

I don't think so.

Not with the wording like that on the stone. It's more of an in your face can I hurt you some more type of thing.

Schiavo (Big letters - she's mine not yours)

Teresa Marie

Beloved wife (she's still mine, not yours. not daugher, not sister. She's mine)

Born Dec 2, 1963

Departed this Earth Feb 25, 1990 (But you were too stupid to realize. From this time on she's breathing meat. A plant, as my lawyer called her.)

At peace March 31, 2005 (I gave her "peace", and you spent all your time loving a vegetable. Ha. I won. She's dead now. And the law backed me up, and you are left with your pain, after watching her die for 13 days. Oops. Silly me. She "died" back in 1990. We just sort of dried out the husk.

I kept my promise. (you and I both know there was no promise, being I remembered it so many years after the fact. But hey, it sounds so romantic.)

And everytime you visit this gravestone, it will push all this in your face, that Terri is mine, not yours, I controlled her, and when you defied me, I took her away from you. I tortured you in court. And I burnt her body and put her in the ground. Enjoy.

This is not a nice gravestone. It is mean and spiteful. And it was very carefully thought out, to inflict maximum pain. The fact it was put in Clearwater makes it all the more nasty. I'm surprised he didn't put it in their front yard.

This was not a kind act of a good man. It isn't. And I am not reading between the lines or guessing. This gravestone needs a captain obvious alert.

It's awfully sick of that b@stard Michael to have marked Terri's grave as 'departed this earth' on February 25, 1990.

There must be at least 50 to 100 people who personally witnessed her being responsive in the last 15 years, including honorable priests, doctors who wrote in her chart she spoke, even Michael's 1992 attorney, and the 1992 Michael himself, and his girlfriends at the time.

BUT I can give Michael credit for just ONE THING.
He is PROBABLY being truthful about having 'kept his promise'...

  • Terri probably said that night: "I want a divorce"

  • and Michael probably promised: "I'll see you dead first!"

From "Terri Big Eyes" video available at www.terrisfight.org

Terri starts out apparently asleep. A doctor wakes her to start his tests.

Doctor: Terri. Open your eyes up...

Terri: (Startled at hearing her name. She starts moving her mouth and fluttering her eyes, like a person who is just waking up)

Doctor: Open your eyes, Terri open your eyes

Terri: (slowly at first, Terri struggles to open her eyes, then turns toward the doctor, and opens her eyes a normal amount)

Doctor: There you go, good.

Terri: (then, either to show off(?) or wanting to perform well, she leans further forward toward the doctor, looks straight at him and opens her eyes as WIDE AS SHE CAN. Note the WRINKLES ACROSS HER FOREHEAD caused by her also RAISING HER EYEBROWS as high as possible )

Doctor: [now obviously impressed] GOOD!! GOOD JOB! GOOD JOB YOUNG LADY! Good Job.

Do you think anyone is going to notice?
----
Nope. I'm sure nobody else knows this fact.

The ferocity and certitude of peoples views on this case is what concerns me. Some folks are really on the warpath.

There is a chance the husband might be sincere. Still, I find him creepy.

Which promise was that? The one where he said he was gonna take care of her for the rest oif his life?

And, promise to whom? Himself? His live-in lover? Scientology?

During all the time that he insisted that Terri supposedly said she "didn't want to be kept alive like that.." I don't recall that, specifically, he ever said, or was it reported anywhere -- that he "PROMISED" her or even agreed to anything. All I recall reading was that he always maintained she had made that statement, but he never revealed how he responded to it when she made it.

Now, suddenly, for sympathy or whatever he is acting like he made Terri some special "Promise." What a piece of work he is. I might be wrong, but I just do not recall him mentioning anything about a promise before.

Clearwater--Isn't that a hotbed of Scientology nuts?

Careful. Tom Cruise will stop jumping up and down on couches and making out with his fiancee to drop another F-bomb if he hears you say that.

But seriously...the church hierarchy are headquartered in Clearwater.

Years ago, a female Scientologist in the Clearwater area was retrieved by members of the Hubbard Hullabaloo from an emergency room she had either gone to or was brought to, and taken to one of their facilities, where she died under mysterious circumstances. The young woman's parents wanted answers from the Scientologists who last saw her alive, and held a candlelight vigil one night to draw attention. In one of the most heartless displays I have ever seen, Scientologist defenders of the faith marched parallel to the vigil, insulted the family, and some even cruelly attempted to blow out their candles.

Reminds me of my ex.... Types of things he said to me..... "I'll see you dead!"

But I was lucky.... I got away!

We have not forgotten you Theresa Marie Schindler. We Never will, dearheart

For most people, wouldn't a more appropriate quote be, "Terri, we never knew ye."?

For crying out loud, Michael. Dont you know that a gravestone is NOT ABOUT YOU!

Exactly right. What kind of person uses a grave marker in that way? Not to mention a reference to "keeping promises" to one's wife might be a bit inappropriate when he was living with and fathering children with another woman. I also note he didn't mention why it took him several years to remember that promise. I'm sure the insurance company who paid out all that money for rehabilitation were very surprised to learn Terri had "departed this earth" much earlier. Just disgusting.
