Well, if people ignore this issue, it will happen closer to home and then they'll get it. Euthanasia is illegal and Terri was the first disabled person who was mandated by a low level judge to be murdered while law enforcement threatened her parents with arrest, threatened her priest with arrest. The low level judge had dominion over the entire United States, defying Congress, the President anad Gov. Bush. Talk about a rogue judge!

This is a part of history. We want change. If people can't handle it, they don't need to visit Terri threads.

There are tons of people who joined FR because of Terri.

I'm usually not so upset over the things I see around me
that are what I consider evil, because I know that is the
way of the world. Someting about Terri and what happened
to her just moved me more than I can say. I didn't even
start following her story until the first time they pulled
her feeding tube. I don't know any of the people involved,
I just know that this was so very wrong, it changed me.

I've known people who have passed out from a lack of potassium.

When I first moved to AZ, I was passing out from dehydration. I was hospitalized and hydrated and whatever else was in the drip. It's a real bummer when you have to drink water instead of wine. < /sarcasm >

I was not on the Terri Schiavo threads. I read them sometimes. It was tearing us all apart.

My personal opinion is and has been: If Terri's mother wanted to take care of her in Terri's waning months, she should have been able to do so. She may have died earlier even with her mother's loving care. Not giving her nutrition and hydrating her to me is murder. Nothing more, nothing less.

That is my opinion. And even FReepers in here for whom I care cannot change that opinion.

That's why I've stayed away from these threads.

Michael Schiavo said on Larry King that if he had strangled her as alleged, her larynx would have been "carushed". So, maybe there's a way to cut off someone's air other than across their larynx.

That autopsy was objective and addressed all the claims and counter claims that have been made re Terri's physical condition. It left open their findings if anyone had "credible evidence" to offer. Your opinion of the thoroughness of the autopsy and its findings is not EVIDENCE.

So Spiff, what you are arguing is taking people off of life support itself. That's fine. But the laws were followed and if you don't like the law, WORK TO CHANGE IT.

The laws of the state of Florida do NOT determine right and wrong. The right thing would have been to not murder this woman.

He talked of two instances where Terri was supposedly drugged, supposedly after the PARENTS had left her room??? I thought the witnesses said it was after MS left the room.

That's what several of her nurses testified in affidavits (which Greer, for convenience, chose to ignore.) Maybe this Throgmorton is just confused.
