We have learned that there was no heart damage but we will never know what stopped her heart for a short period of time once in her lifetime for a brief period or whether or not she was minimally conscious because the state ordered her death. That we know for sure.
But you're a smart guy Jess. How much cortex is required to be minimally conscious?

LARGO, Fla. — Terri Schiavo did not suffer any trauma prior to her 1990 collapse and her brain was about half of normal size when she died, according to results released Wednesday of an autopsy conducted on the severely brain-damaged woman.
Pinellas-Pasco Medical Examiner Jon Thogmartin concluded that there was no evidence of strangulation or other trauma leading to her collapse. He also said she did not appear to have suffered a heart attack and there was no evidence that she was given harmful drugs or other substances prior to her death.
Autopsy results on the 41-year-old brain damaged woman were made public Wednesday, more than two months after Schiavo's death ended an internationally watched right-to-die battle that engulfed the courts, Congress and the White House and divided the country.
She died from dehydration, he said.
He said she would not have been able to eat or drink if she had been given food by mouth as her parents' requested.
"Removal of her feeding tube would have resulted in her death whether she was fed or hydrated by mouth or not," Thogmartin told reporters.
Thogmartin said that Schiavo's brain was about half of its expected size when she died March 31 in a Pinellas Park hospice, 13 days after her feeding tube was removed.
"The brain weighed 615 grams, roughly half of the expected weight of a human brain. ... This damage was irreversible, and no amount of therapy or treatment would have regenerated the massive loss of neurons."

I thought one comment that he made was a bit strange or maybe I misunderstood.
He talked of two instances where Terri was supposedly drugged, supposedly after the PARENTS had left her room??? I thought the witnesses said it was after MS left the room.
I believe those two instances were about a year ago and over two years ago. The ME said no drugs were found in her body. Would drugs be expected to be found in her body from that long ago?
Maybe I misunderstood this, but it just seemed a very strange thing to say. Maybe someone can clarify.

Those who work in rehab (...RN's, OT's PT's, MD's, ect...) know very well that these people may never function as "normal", but will try to make them comfortable, and help their quality of life in any way they can.
In whatever state they are, especially if they are in "stable" condition.
She was not "dying" until they pulled her hydration.
We are not to judge the "quality" of life, that's up to God. Especially if she was Catholic-Christian.
Others who don't subscribe to that thought, will do otherwise.

Michael Schiavo is still a pos and I hope he enjoys the same joys of dehydration that he gave to his poor wife.
