Excerpt...

Her travels may be over, but Wilbanks' troubles may have just begun. Gwinnett County District Attorney Danny Porter said he was examining evidence for a possible charge of making false statements to a government agency.

Sartain believes that's not necessary.

"She is deeply regretful of the pain she caused her family, her fiancé, her friends and the community who rallied to her aid," the lawyer said Wednesday. "I believe Jennifer committed no crime."

Arrests for shoplifting

Sartain, a former Hall County district attorney, knows her client. Court records show that Wilbanks was arrested three times in that county on shoplifting charges from 1996 to 1998.

In 1996, as district attorney, Sartain prosecuted Wilbanks for allegedly shoplifting $1,740 in merchandise from a Gainesville mall, court records show. Sartain dropped the felony charge after Wilbanks, then 24, completed a pretrial diversion program, the records show. Wilbanks performed 75 hours of community service and paid restitution, according to court records.

Months before that felony arrest, police had charged Wilbanks with misdemeanor shoplifting for allegedly taking $37.05 in merchandise from a Gainesville Wal-Mart. Court records show that officials dismissed the case after Wilbanks completed "Project Turnabout," a six-week counseling program for shoplifters.

She was arrested again, city court records show, in April 1998, when Wilbanks, then 25, was charged with shoplifting $98 worth of merchandise from a store. She pleaded guilty and served two weekends in jail. A judge also sentenced her to probation, a $400 fine and 50 hours of community service.

Wow -- what a mess, his "virgin" bride. A criminal record. Sweet thang she is, huh?

No wonder she was planning to have a black dress wedding.

Hello baby, yeah, this is the Big Bopper speaking
Oh you sweet thing
Do I what
Will I what
Oh baby you know what I like

Chantilly lace and a pretty face
And a pony tail hanging down
That wiggle in the walk and giggle in the talk
Makes the world go round
There ain't nothing in the world like a big eyed girl
That makes me act so funny, make me spend my money
Make me feel real loose like a long necked goose
Like a girl, oh baby that's what I like

What's that baby
But, but, but, oh honey
But, oh baby you know what I like

Chorus

What's that honey
Pick you up at 8 and don't be late
But baby I ain't got no money honey
Oh alright baby you know what I like

Chorus

Albuquerque, New Mexico police have announced that in addition to Wilbanks's initial claim that she'd been abducted by a Hispanic man and an Anglo woman, she also claimed to have raped. She recanted the rape claim at the same time she admitted she'd never been kidnapped -- but she stuck by her story long enough to undergo a rape exam.

That's when the investigators asked her if they could stop looking for the blue van. lol!

New York Post -- are reporting that, according to "friends," Wilbanks (who'd gotten breast implants before meeting Mason) left because she was sexually frustrated by John Mason's insistence on abstinence before marriage and that Wilbanks, in the past, "had lots of boyfriends" (and that Mason, before becoming a "born again virgin," had "dated a lot."

According to the interview Hannity did with John, John says the Media got it wrong about them living together.

He has a house in Duluth, whereas she was from Gainesville. (They have neither been living together for five years nor engaged for five years. I got the impression they have not known each other for five years, either.) Anyway, only quite recently, according to John, she began moving some of her stuff and furnishings, decorations, etc. into his home in advance of the wedding. He said that on a few occasions she spent the night there because she was there late in the evening anyway.

And she was there the evening she went jogging. So the Media reported that it was the home they shared. John said no, it was the home they were getting ready to share. He told Sean that they had not lived together in that sense, and that it was his decision, due to his religious beliefs that such a relationship belongs in marriage.

I only report to you what John told Sean.

One thing for sure, the Media can and very often does, get things wrong.

I think it is up to 50% in Manhattan of the cases go like this. She should be treated as a rapist.

That chin alone reminds of the BALCO scandel.

Julia Roberts has some bizarre features too, but I'd still let her drive my truck.

I might not let her into the gun-case though.

Obviously, this is a troubled young lady who may have done the right thing in the wrong way. If she's given a chance to redeem herself, I'm sure she'll prove herself worthy of our trust.

I say, set a new date and send out the invitations. Let's see what happens.

Don't you see: she was born again so the prior shoplifting and sex doesn't count.

Looks like it was a breech birth.

And what did she think about his decision? Sounds like she had a different opinion...
