What is happening to Free Republic Mr. Robinson? The Bush Haters and Republican Haters are getting louder and more daring by the hour. These phony conservatives who claim the Conservatism purity are savagely attacking President Bush and the GOP as bad as the worst liberals.
The Bash Bush feast is becoming a part of every thread. Everywhere you see Bush is a traitor, Bush wants to sell our sovereignty to Mexico, Bush is a liberal, Bush has no spine, Bush is destroying our economy, Bush is puppet in Vincent Fox hand, Bush is this Bush is that, everything wrong in this world is Bush fault.
Nothing but doom and gloom is coming from these phony conservatives. For them our economy is destroyed, liberals are controlling the government, the GOP will be finished by 2006, Mexico has invaded the US and changed its identity, China is superior to us, we are no more a superpower, and on and on and on. Every minor bump in the road is turned into a Mount Everest of catastrophe and disaster
Either Free Republic will remain the Premier political forum on the internet, a site to advance the real conservative cause and provide great and continuous support to our President Bush and the Republican Party, or it will be forum controlled by bitter and delusional phony conservatives who can never win on the ballot box, and come to FR to poison the atmosphere through their extreme kooky rhetoric and turn it into another Dummyland.

I do think that he is NOT upholding the Oath of the Office of the President of the United States of America

And since he is also the Commander in Chief the Military Oath also binds him.
It is painfully obvious to me that his ability is not very good.

I have the same suspicion.
But here is what SOME will do. They will vote for a figment of their imagination...they refused to find out where Bush stood on all the issues...they disliked Gore, Kerry, or Libertarianism or whatever, so with blind eyes they pulled the GOP lever.
Then they spend the rest of the time screaming how the man BETRAYED THEM AND HE ISN'T WHAT THEY THOUGHT HE WOULD BE. Talk about setting up straw men so you can continually bash them later. But you can always say...I voted for the man so I'm no phony, I'm the real deal, and if I wanna call him Shrub and a Fool and Jorge Bush and a one-worlder and the rest, I earned that right because I voted for him.
No they did not vote for GEORGE W BUSH. They voted for a straw man just so they could pull this very thing.
I knew what I was getting when I voted for Bush. And to tell you the truth, he has been somewhat MORE CONSERVATIVE than I thought he would be. A pleasant surprise, indeed.
And no I don't agree with him on everything. Nor do I anyone else. Who does???
But the hatred of others towards him is palpable. A hard man to hate. Takes some kinda folks to hate a man that badly who is very hard to hate. I used to think it took extreme leftists. Now I know better, sad to say.

I know how easily it is for us to get frustrated, from time to time, about all sorts of aspects to the forum we all enjoy. My remembering this section of Chesterton (which has been of great benefit to me over the years) wasn't meant to condemn our author of this thread, but to merely give him something to reflect upon after the usual feedback.
I had a dinner the other night with some very good friends, some of whom happen to be liberals. When the discussions turned to current events, it is stuff like Chesterton that lets me comment in a more reflective manner and thereby possibly find common ground for change rather than breach old friendships.
We aren't in the business of promoting one issue or one office holder here. But we surely aren't in the forum to tear one down all the time either.

I am tired of the complacent attitude of Mr. Rove that we conservatives have no where else to go. We American citizens are trying to get his attention. Is that "mean spirited?" To some it is. Go figure.

Agreed. However, in 50 years, the America we strive to preserve will be happily if not gleefully erased by the left. We do not have time to waste; in one session of Congress, our sovereignty and freedoms can be erased. With the next four years or so, 4 to 5 Supreme Court Justices will be seated, and it is, a matter of life or death, of us all, and the republic, that Americans stand for America.

To my knowledge, NO. Volumes spoken about his support of CFR. Just exactly who will be the foreign donors in the next election. I can tell you, this donor of time and cash, shall not darken the door of the GOP again, with expectations they fulfill their promises. Rather, I shall donate to the Gonad Transplant foundation in hopes, that at least 60 sets are always available to elected leaders who have sworn to uphold and protect the constitution. /:) / s
