Because I just do not want to destroy the life of a man or a woman who is working to clean the table in a restaurant, or swiping the floor in the mall, or picking up the garbage at a public place, or cleaning the bathroom at a work place. And I do not want to destroy the business that hires them.

Can you do that, let me know.

Sure you announce that you are going to actually start enforcing the laws and will expand the guest worker program but they have to apply for such in the country of origin.

You also state that after you begin enforcing these laws that you will not only prosecute said criminals, but you will also confiscate their property and the property of their employers under the property forfeiture laws.

And you state that you will start this new policy in 6 months from the day of announcement to give them time to get out, and you tell them that if they come forward, you will see that their assets are converted so that they can have time to leave the country in an equitable fashion.

This thing does not have to be done in a hostile and inhumane way.

Dear Sir or Madam:

You seem to want to put all the blame for their situation on me, or in general, on those that would seek to enforce the laws of this country. I reject such a notion. I did not ask the dishwasher, table clearer, or bathroom cleaner to come to this country. They chose to do so themselves, and do so illegally.

When one seeks to accomplish financial gain by breaking the law, one must be willing to face the consequences. Would you say to a bank robber, "I'll let you go, since you have a family to feed. You stole money, but since you are poor and destitute, that makes it ok". I should hope you wouldn't.

Here, the issue isn't about stealing money, but it still is about breaking the law. You attempt to justify breaking the law because the law breaker in question is financially destitute (or has a family to feed, or is struggling to make a business work, etc), so the same argument still applies: Simply because someone is poor, doesn't mean they should be given a "pass" on ANY law. That flies in the face not only of common sense, but in the sense of fairness and equality upon which this country was founded. Thus, it isn't me that's "destroying their lives, or the business that hires them". It's by their own illegal choices that they destroy themselves.

I am not racist. I don't want to deny any immigrant the chance to "make it" in this country. Indeed, this country was founded by, and prospered under, the hard work of immigrants. However, by and large this prosperity was achieved by legal immigrants. Is it fair to the legal immigrants to reward their illegal counterparts? Those who would circumvent the system not only disgrace what this country was founded upon, but also disgrace those hard working immigrants that come to this country by following the rules.

But you will let the man or women and the bussines destroy America. No wonder you’re not a citizen yet.
