A Challenge for the all "illegal Immigration" obsessed freepers.

Posted on 01/31/2005 8:31:00 PM PST by jveritas

Edited on 01/31/2005 8:36:26 PM PST by Admin Moderator. [history]

In the last three months the obsessed minority of freepers but very vocal who hate President Bush have been bombarding us with every illegal immigration thread under the sun so they have their "BASH BUSH ORGY".

Since these freepers want to deport every illegal immigrant, here is the challenge for you:

Pick up your phone and report to the INS about an illegal immigrant and his employer. I am sure you know at least one illegal immigrant who works in a convenient store, on a gas station, clean the garbage in your office, clean the bathroom at your work place... And I am sure you know one of these employers who hire illegal immigrants. Go ahead Macho Guys, do your duty and report them to the INS. Let us see how courageous you are and let us see your action following your rhetoric.

Go ahead, ping each other and show us your heroism.

Who's hiding ?

Everyone knows that there is no meaningful enforcement. No one will cart anyone off to Mexico in handcuffs. And that is because THE ENFORCEMENT AGENCIES ARE SO SWAMPPED THAT THEY ARE BAILING OUT A SINKING BOAT WITH A TEACUP.

There will be no meaningful enforcement until the agencies are properly staffed and very possibly, there is a new administration.

Wow, where is this coming from?

My family emigrated here LEGALLY in the 50's. My father had to be SPONSORED because his parents were considered too old to care for him. They spent 7 years between Nazi Labor Camps and Displaced Persons Camps in Europe until they found sponsorship here.

There is a legal way of entering this country and I respect people who do it the LEGAL way.

Believe me - if I knew of an illegal immigrant who was sucking the money out of our local, state and federal government, I would not hesitate to pick up the phone.

Look, jveritas or whomever, I support Bush, and I think he is a good if not a great President.

One really *can* disagree on a minority of issues and still support a politician.

The thing is not opposition to Bush, much less 'hating' him, for goodness sakes, I pray for that man and our Congress every day.

But I simply disagree, and it exasperates me that this patriot and intelligent man can be so misguided about the criminal immigration issue.

But that is fine. In politics you never get 100% of what you want, and who realisticly expects to? It is a process of compromise and change.

One day I think 99% of those leading the Republican Party will wake up on this issue and see criminal immigration for the disaster that it truly is, just like Rush did.

It will just take time and patience and lots of discussing the issue.

And the more we discuss it, and the more absurd it becomes in the minds of most patriots, the sooner it will be addressed in a suitable way.

So there is nothing wrong with George W; he just needs a little more time, thats all.

In case you missed a fabulous "Letter to the editor" in today's Sun Times..

Offensive and inaccurate

I strongly condemn Father Andrew Greeley's suggestion that many Americans would favor shooting illegal aliens as they cross the border [column, Jan. 14]. Greeley's outrageous statement deliberately distorts the facts and surpasses in its irresponsibility a comment made several years ago by Chicago Archbishop Cardinal Francis George, who said illegal immigrants are ''the hidden pistons that are driving our economy.'' Both are pure fiction.

Equally disturbing is Greeley's charge that a majority of Americans ''hate immigrants'' and are ''willing to deny them the most fundamental human rights.'' What a majority of Americans have told pollsters for years is that they want less legal immigration and stricter enforcement of immigration laws. For this they are supposed to be ashamed?

His church, like organized labor, cannot get enough of mass immigration because both have seen better days in terms of membership. But you won't see either using any of their money to help pay the escalating costs associated with illegal immigration, including free medical care and public school education.

Greeley says Catholics are the biggest hypocrites of all in terms of immigration, but I believe that blaming ordinary parishioners is an attempt to mask a more serious shortcoming that extends all the way to the Vatican.

How would he explain his church's support of an immigration policy that hurts most our own working poor? The church's hierarchy in this country, including the National Council of Catholic Bishops, is solidly behind a general amnesty for millions of illegals. Where is the church's compassion for the 14 million underemployed American citizens whose daily economic struggles are made increasingly difficult because they must compete with illegal aliens for the full-time jobs they once did at higher wages? Or do these religious leaders believe that today only the foreign-born, particularly illegal aliens, are entitled to ''search for a better life''?

As I see it, turning its back on millions of our own poor citizens shames the Catholic Church. Therein lies the problem

Thanks for the info. Imo, this vanity post was designed to start an argument. How does one tell if one is illegal? There are Eastern Europeans and Asians, besides Hispanics who are here illegally. Even Arnold Schwarzenegger admitted to having overstayed his visa for a good length of time. That's illegal.

Should we walk up to the busboy or the hotel housekeeper, and demand that they show us their papers? Many of us are in no position to judge who is legal or not, or whether a company is hiring them illegally. I know where this post was supposed to go. It's a desperate attempt to paint us as racists.

Are you asking the malcontents to actually put in an effort and not just complain?

I don't think they'll know how to do that. But expect many indignant false replies.

Because I just do not want to destroy the life of a man or a woman who is working to clean the table in a restaurant, or swiping the floor in the mall, or picking up the garbage at a public place, or cleaning the bathroom at a work place. And I do not want to destroy the business that hires them.

Can you do that, let me know.

Sure you announce that you are going to actually start enforcing the laws and will expand the guest worker program but they have to apply for such in the country of origin.

You also state that after you begin enforcing these laws that you will not only prosecute said criminals, but you will also confiscate their property and the property of their employers under the property forfeiture laws.

And you state that you will start this new policy in 6 months from the day of announcement to give them time to get out, and you tell them that if they come forward, you will see that their assets are converted so that they can have time to leave the country in an equitable fashion.

This thing does not have to be done in a hostile and inhumane way.

I support President Bush 110% on all of his proposals EXCEPT his guest worker proposal.

Bush-bashing orgy? I don't think so. I just want secure borders and immigration laws that are meaningful AND ENFORCED.

"Pick up your phone and report to the INS about an illegal immigrant and his employer."

I'm five instances ahead of you and I'm proud to say that all five times the illegals have been rounded up and removed.

Anything else "Macho guy"?

The biggest threat to this country comes from illegal aliens as well as many legal immigrants. In addition to terrorist threats, they cause problems in regards to the environment, cultural survival, crime, health, social services, etc.

And the sense of entitlement! They are not about to learn English -- they expect us to learn their language. At a Wendy's in Alexandria, VA a Pakistani manager and cashier attacked a customer with a rake and a pair of hedge trimmers after a Hispanic customer demanded that they learn Spanish to deal with their employees and customers. Now the pair face felony assault charges for using gardening tools as their reply.
