I don't know how to implement this, but media reports are a weapon in the terrorist's hands. They need to be disarmed.

It would be nice it they were on our side for a change. But short of the FDR strategy I am not sure how either. They are drunk with the idea of their own power.

But even total media control won't stop it either. You have to cut off their sub rosa support from hostile governments. It could be done it the world would act in concert.

"...short of the FDR strategy I am not sure how either. They are drunk with the idea of their own power."

In Afghanistan, many warlords are reluctant to yield obeissance to the national government. They have to be incorporated into its structure in order to get their cooperation.

"They are drunk with the idea of their own power."

There's an incipient idea here, but I can't tease any sense out of it. How could giving the press real power benefit us?

Would we want to put them in charge of winning the conflict?

"Your mission, Jim, should you decide to accept it, is to win the hearts and minds of the Islamic majority, and show them that cooperation with us will bring them to that bright, marvelous future the Prophet promised them."

Oh, yeah!! What do those guys know about advertising or conveying a message?
