I think I figured out where we are going to get our meat from on the trip to Mars...

We'll keep enough animal DNA on stock for cloning purposes, any live animals will more likely be pets.

"I’ll show you how to operate the juicer, and how to keep the protein incubators happy."

(From a short, unpublished introductory piece to my first book.) I was intimating that some tissues were grown in situ, to have the taste and texture of various meats.

It never made it into the published version, partly because it wasn't necessary to the story.

I mentioned various food items, such as eggs, milk, and meat portions without going into details about whether such things came from living animals. That, too, was irrelevent.

Bill Cosby's "Chicken Heart" routine sems appropriate here. A horror story based on chicken embrionic tissue continuing to grow in the lab.

Nothing appears to prevent the culturing of animal muscle tissue, including causing it to have a blood supply, and perhaps they can get the needed exercise by stimulating the petri dishes with some electric current. It would be a compact system of generating a variety of food substances for any kitchen, and perhaps in a few hundred years, all "food" animals will be in petting zoos.

I saw the "Dolly Llama" Tuesday afternoon when I was visiting Kutztown, PA.

Imagine what it must be like having the same name as thousands of other distant relations that were born in a post-cloning age.

:7)

I have to admit, that was probably one of the highlights of my visit to Pennsylvania Dutch country.

"Imagine what it must be like having the same name as thousands of other distant relations..."

I don't have to! I've done a Google search on my own real name, and discovered that it is engraved on the Viet Nam Veterans Memorial Wall, has been launched into space, that I've been in a wedding in one part of the country, a pall-bearer in another, and the "Guest of Honor" at a funeral somewhere else.

I do get around! All it takes is a relatively common last name. By the way, John Kerry's name is not engraved on the wall.

present... and praying for all involved with friends and family. And preping the gun collection for some practice shooting as soon as the range opens in 3 hours.

I love London have visited it twice. I hate to see this happen to a great city. But I also know that the Brits will get their revenge. I pity those that committed this act. The brits will anilate them.

Alpaca wool is warmer and lighter, but not as durable as llama.

I'm here.
I'm nowhere near London, but still.
God be with the families.
