When was Jermaine Jackson's last hit record?1976?
I DID love his version of Daddy's Home from 1973!

If this report is true, then we need President Bush more than ever! He'll have the entire Homeland security department on it...Kerry would assign a couple of cops to go bust the prostitutes, no wait, the gamblers, oh yeah, the terrorists, damn nuisances anyway!

Haven't there been recent changes which give border agents more control?

Can you name one society in history that has had the wealth and technological power of the U.S.? I recognize that we will not be able to hermetically seal ourselves. But having hundreds of thousands of foreign nationals sneaking into our nation on a yearly basis seriously undermines our claim to sovereignty.

I think that this could be true.Sierra Vista,Az.is at the base of the Army Intell base at Thunder Mountain and I talked with some guys there and was told that they can't stop the flood of illegals.
We could post our entire military force on the borders and they wouldn't be able to stop them.
If the 28 don't have any help,I doubt they will get very far.

Whether it is true or not it still scares the hell out of me.
You may call it racism but we have let way to many foreigners with dubious loyalties immigrate to this country. You can thank Madam Albright and the Clinton State Department for an open door visa policy during the 90's.
Many of these former immigrants such as the group called CAIR talk as though Bush attacked all Muslims instead of the terrorist's. Should something disastrous come out of this story I doubt a President sKerry would take decisive action against these morons. Bush is still our best hope of defeating terrorism. Skerry talks about negotiations and law enforcement actions as though that will impress anyone except the French and his misguided supporters.

Creating a democracy in Iraq will also be "tough" but we have not quit for that reason.
The downside of terrorists coming across the border at night with deadly bio agents is too grave to ignore to the degree this administration has done.
Should we instead continue to stip search grandmothers at airports?

This is hard, no simple to believe.

"And the logistics, manpower, and time it would take to completely secure our massively long borders would make simply going to the moon look like building a barbeque pit over a weekend."
There was a time not too long ago that travel to the moon was a fantasy.
The answer is technology, applied efficiently, and supplanted with manpower as needed. The idea that you need one soldier per 50 yards to secure a perimeter is so 20th century mon.

"Now Mexico has had mexican army squads stationed at various points across the border - taking all I've said in consideration, short of starting an all out border war, I think you should maybe cool it on the condemnation of Ridge and Bush"
Yes and it's some of those Mexican Army troops that are shooting at our Border Patrol. BTW, there is a border war going on right now. Ridge is an idiot and I'm not sure which group is buying Bush on this issue.

If I must speculate, this story comes from a confidential briefing that members of congress received a few weeks ago.
It contains all the skip and chatter that intel reports always do.
This is likely unverified and made it's way onto the report as the reporting of people seen videotaping the trade center did prior to 9/11.(later found to be legit tourists)
What they got is some stuff from Mexico saying a group of foreigners headed North toward the border this past summer. We heard this reported a dozen time since then.(At least I have) Nobody has been able to confirm this.(remember the tanker truck crap) It came out about the same time the tanker truck scare occurred.

If you think it's just a nuisance just wait and see. It wont take 25 A&%holes to do the trick. 1 Freak with a little bit of luck and it's curtains for a whole lot of people. If people really think the Goobers have stopped trying and the Skerrcrow is going to make it all better, than they deserve what they get. In a perfect world the only Nuisance the Skerrcrow has is a HAIR PROBLEM!!!! Try a 911 on for size and you'll get a little perspective. A 2000 pound Elk can sneak up on a Human-being at full alert and you think a person couldn't get through a "porous" border. Give me a break. It's like sleeping with the doors removed while there is a Serial Killer on the prowl. We are in for a serious awakening if the bad guys succeed. Prepare Prepare prepare.

How difficult would it be to smuggle a WMD device in a boat doing an ordinary transit of the coast, up from south america to the U.S. ??? There are many, many thousands of such transits every year.
Why take the chance on a land border crossing when the easier route is by sea?
If your answer is that we should beef up customs in the border ports... that's interesting... but then all they have to do is enter by some other port. Alaska, for example, has hundreds of places to pull into... then fly stuff by float plane into Anchorage, then by Alaska airlines without customs, into the U.S.
Seems simple, but it ain't.

Are they going to try to attack the debate? That would be my guess for a target.
To: ProudVet77
Very little time to substantiate it before the debate, and you know Kerry has a "plan" to protect the border. And good old Bob Schieffer is already planning to ask a question about illegal immigration. If Kerry has a plan to protect the border, he'll win the election in a heartbeat...

I think Kerry would have the UN control our border.
