I preface this short vanity by saying I am pro-life, anti-abortion, anti-stem cell playing-God...
I have a friend who worked on Christopher Reeve's latest TV movie which Reeve just finished directing.
Movie sets are generally bedlam, filled with chaos, complaints, back-stabbing and petty irritations.
My friend said this production was different -- a life-changing experience for everyone involved with it.
The direction on the set was altered to accommodate Reeve's limitations which, according to my friend, were unimaginable. Reeve had to show up before dawn hours ahead of schedule in order to prepare for the rigors of production. He was constantly hooked up to machines. He could move nothing but his facial muscles. He was never alone, yet he was all alone.
Throughout the weeks, Reeve was steady, focused and serene. No one argued about craft services or late entrances or slow lighting. Everyone pitched in and did more than their share -- willingly, gratefully, aware of the tremendous effort Reeve was making and of his constant, unfathomable suffering.
My friend is not a particularly religious man, but he said he felt blessed and humbled to witness Christopher Reeve's profound courage and grace.
His pain is ended; he's strong and whole now. May God comfort those who loved him.

Unlike slime like you, I refuse, REFUSE to speak ill of the newly dead when his/her family is still grieving, unless the deceased is a known murderer, rapist, or child molester.
Reeve was none of the three, and I will NOT resort to the level of a sadistic vulture like yourself just to score a few cheap Political points with my extremist friends (message to you, bud. not every staunch opponent of abortion believes that all followers of the abortion agenda are inherently evil. Many, like Reeve, are largely misguided or foolish in their views, and don't believe in conception = birth as I do) . Oh, and I don't give a damn about whether of not he's in Heaven. In the end, only God Himself will determine if we are worthy to enter into His presence. If you want to be concerned with a soul, pick your own.
I admire the courage and tenacity with which Reeves pursued the betterment of mankind through attempting to find a cure for spinal coard paralysis; I have no respect and no support for the snake oil non-solutions his liberal friends fed him. Superman was one of my favorite films; Superman 4 was one of my least favorite films. It all just balances out sometimes...
I'm actually speaking ill of YOU.

So because Mr. Reeve did not personally harvest the stem cells from murdered children, he gets a pass. He was only cheering from the sidelines, after all.

And what does it say for the cheerleaders of the cheerleaders? People like RockAgainsttheLeft04? God will have His say.
Another instance of the folks out there worshipping style over substance.
That was the substance of this so-called "hero" and martyr.
If Reeves had had his way, abortion would be partial-birth up to the 9th month, and thereafter sliced and diced in Tyson chicken slaughterhouse-like facilities.
Remember friend, God is my Co-pilot. You're flying solo.
Well then, I guess that's between G*d and Mr. Reeve, isn't it?
When it comes to people who have no regard for the life of the unborn, I like to quote General George Patton:
"May God have mercy upon my enemies, I won't."
Nope, we all have a duty to change the minds and hearts of the nonbelievers and, for your sake, the stupid and uncaring.
Are the "graves" of Saddam's two sons sacred as well?
Whereas most people on this board feel compassion for ANYONE who's passed on and their loved ones, you are wrong to demand respect from everyone for this man.
True, but you were demanding an exemption from "criticism" of Chris Reeves.
As I said, he's NOT on THIS planet.
