Exactly so and even though Obama wasn't born in Ill.,he's lived there for at least a decade and is a prof at U of C and a state senator.

Obama is NOT part of Jesse Jackson's mafia, either. So goodbye to that "taint".

Oberweiss should have been given the slot.He came in second,in the GOP primary,is Conservative, and wouldn't have given as much fuel to the damned Dems.

Obama IS part of Jesse Jackson's mafia. He is black, democratic, he IS pro baby killing, and that is gonna come out - that he, along with the rest of the worthless liberals in this country support the murder of 1000 black babies every single day.

We don't. Keyes don't and the dems are facing their worst nightmare!

Oh wow, unlike "carpetbagger Keyes", the socialist mulatto from HAWAII has permanent residency in Illinois for a whooping 10 years, and managed to live here for at least three of them before HE ran for elective office. And he's 43 years old, which means he can run on this slogan:

"UNLIKE KEYES, OBAMA'S ONLY LIVED 3/4THS OF HIS LIFE IN ANOTHER STATE!"

Gee, his Illinois credentials sound soooo much better already.

>> Obama is NOT part of Jesse Jackson's mafia, either. So goodbye to that "taint".

He's not a card-carrying member of Rainbow-PUSH, but only a Dummycrat would use that to imply Je$$e Jacka$$ & Company aren't working their butt off to elect the guy when we saw them do exactly that at the RAT convention. He is a "rising star" among the socialist wing of black Illinois caucus and they recruited him to run against "tainted" Bobby Rush in 2000 AND HE RAN TO THE LEFT OF RUSH BUT FAILED TO WIN. Of course in 2004 they had less hopes in the primary but Obama pulled off an upset this time around and the socialists couldn't be happier and are marching in lockstep to elect him. Obama's fund-raising network is tied to hip of Rev. Jesse's "people".

So let me get this straight? The Keyes critics here don't think he's good enough campaign material because he lost two GENERAL elections in socialist Maryland, so they want to give it to a guy who lost two PRIMARY elections in Illinois and has never held ANY office? Yeah, that makes sense. First off, Oberweis may have millions but every polled showed he would have been crushed by Obama. Two, it's ridiculous to believe Oberweis would have won the nomination if Jack Ryan weren't a factor in the primary. Most of Ryan's support would have went to Raushenburger. Oberweis simply had the "anyone but Jack!" vote locked up. Third, "conservative" Jim Oberweis compared pro-life activists to the Taliban in 2002 and was completely silent on immigration in his last campaign, but decided it was the "no. #1 issue" in this campaign. Oberweis is conservative on whatever issue does well with primary voters in a pull poll. He would NOT unite the party's base.

"However, I do believe Keyes has already indicated to the Pub party in IL that he is running, and is waiting to announce it on Sunday to get the most play (he'll probably appear on one of the talking heads Sunday programs). Plus, if he accepts, he'll probably be buying himself a position as a speaker at the Republican convention (unless all the speaker slots are already filled); that's if the Pubs are smart and give him a platform to speak from and thus enhance his candidacy credentials for the run for senator from IL. Our answer to Obama at the Dem convention. We'll see. Hope I'm right." (My post from last night on the ever so long Keyes thread).

Looks like I was right, no pardons. By the way, where is your sidekick Howlin on this thread. Did she work her fingers to the nub trying to badrap Keyes last nite? Can't type anymore for a while? Well, now we've got Keyes, much I'm sure to your dismay. Oberweiss was no longer a viable candidate due to his making a big issue of illegal immigration in Illinois during the primary. Although I agree with him 100% on this point, it just wasn't going to fly against an opponent like Obama (himself an immigrant). The dems would have gone after him viciously. Also, Oberweiss has flip flopped on abortion, and many didn't trust his true beliefs. Perhaps he'll pop up in some other election, but not this one. Keyes is a much better matchup for Obama. Ok, now you can startup your anti-Keyes rant again on this new thread. Have fun.

np-

I gotta disagree w/you on Oberweiss - he's really a buffoon. If he were Texan, he'd be the epitomy of the "good 'ol boy."

Andy McKenna's a great guy w/conservative values. I wish he'd have gotten RNC support.
