Accusing and/or arresting someone of an alleged crime does not make them guilty. For instance, I could ACCUSE you of being obtuse regarding this case...but does that make it so?

Well, okay, bad analogy...

Guilt or innocence is for a jury to decide, not a district attorney.

It does tend to make them the accused, the protestations of the noteworthy academician who argued otherwise notwithstanding ...
