According to Harvey Levin ("Celebrity Justice") from sources connected with both sides in Eagle, Colorado:
1) Kobe accepts a plea bargain for a non-sex crime misdemeanor such as Third-Degree assault. (misdemeanor, Kobe might get probation, wouldn't have to register as sex offender).
2) Kobe settles the civil case. Pays a financial settlement. Gives letter of apology saying, "that even though Kobe Bryant belived that he was doing nothing wrong, that she felt she had been assaulted in the hotel room, and for that he was sorry."
No plea deals struck, but parties talking about it.
The idea that someone because of how they earn their living is necessarily guilty of whatever they are charged with. That is one of the most UnAmerican things I have ever read on FR or even DU [which I learned about here and have only been to a handful of times] for that matter.
The point of your sermon is well taken.
It's an emotional issue, and everyone's entitled to an opinion, but facts are where the focus should be.
More seriously, though, why is this still considered a "case" at this point? With evidence like this, I don't know why Kobe even wants to deal, if that report is true.
K F's medical record were allowed

Typical liberal spin on this. Her medical records were in fact excluded by the judge. This is evidence from the rape exam.
THAT interview with Kennedy I had to turn off,too!..The pundits have made me check out other viewing a lot...I am a trial, crime watcher but haven't really been into the Kobe case except when it first happened..I have no knowledge to impart.
I still haven't found a news report about it.....I hope the person reporting it didn't misunderstand and/or confuse the medical records with those transcripts.
Looks like I'm gonna have to fall off the ole fence shortly :~)

That's what I'm thinking......I may have posted that in haste.
We shall see shortly, I hope.
It does tend to make them the accused, the protestations of the noteworthy academician who argued otherwise notwithstanding ...
Mike Tyson, Bill Clinton, and Michael Jackson need your support on another thread ...
Hold the phone......it may be a misunderstanding on the part of the person how said it.
I fell off the fence sometime back. Something about the "victim" just didn't seem right, and as more details came out, I just didn't believe her. That's not to say I'm a Kobe fan. He's a jerk, but maybe not a raping jerk.
You probably have it right. Reporters are just so bad about not getting the details correct.

What on earth is wrong with his voice?
Isn't it odd that when you're interested in finding the truth you're called a Kobe Lover?
I've never stated one word about what I think of Kobe Bryant.
Did you they teach you that word at DU ?
Come on, you can admit it. No one will hold it against you.
Nonetheless certain substrata in our diverse soceity have become enamoured with a cult(ure) of aggression against women, including rape. They figure they are entitled to it. They expect, excuse and defend this behavior in their stars.
I already knew that rapists and other perps had fans. Bill Clinton taught us that. I was simply surprised to see so many come out of the closet.
One thing I am grateful for is transcripts, evidence documents, motion hearings... any published documents...
The news paper reporters and TV reporters constantly get facts, interpretations wrong.
You know, you are a very good posters on all the other threads; you're childish replies on this one really surprise me.
And I'll be damned if I'll defend myself from being a rape lover.
