Due to this power being off then, it would also affect the backup system generator amd necessitate the FD having to crash in the gate?
The emergency generator exists as backup to commercial power. The equipment is expected to operate non-stop on the batteries. If the problem occurred at a point between the batteries and the equipment, it would necessitate killing power in a fashion independent of how the batteries are charged. Assuming the gate surveillance and control is run off the -48V supply, it would explain why the FD would have to crash the gate instead of using the electronic control systems.
Was noticing how many of the power outages were affecting hospitals. Not good.
