Former Iraqi Soldiers Will Not Restore Order in Fallujah

The U.S. Marine plan to have former Iraqi soldiers restore order in Fallujah ran into trouble Sunday as the former Iraqi general heading the new force denied there were any foreign fighters in the city, calling into question his commitment to American military objectives. A few hours later, the top U.S. military commander said the general would not be allowed to lead the scores of armed men he already has mustered in the city.

Put a fence around the city. Give 48 hour notice to left peacefully. 48 hours and 1 minute start dropping MOABs and Daisy Cutters. When the city is leveled move to the uprising.

Thanks to this "General", the widespread PERCEPTION is that we lost in Fallujah.

Unless somebody pulls a rabit out of the hat, QUICK, the PERCEPTION will become REALITY.

This was all probably just a chance to have the "new" Iraqi military "prove themselves". If the General said there were no foreign fighters, he just "proved himself".

The Marines came into Iraq with some mighty big talk about how the Army has messed things up and they were going to show the Army how things should be done. This is looking more and more like a SNAFU.

I believe I can hear the Marine Corps hymn in the background.
Our grunts will be PO-ed to have to battle for positions they gave up in a fight that should have been over a least a week ago.

No, no, no. This is not possible. The lady from Ohio assured me this was all strategery ...

One U.S. military official said doing so could prove tricky. "We've just told him he can form a brigade and take over the city," the official said. "Now we're telling him that he has to step aside? Do we just expect him to go home?"

I'm sure glad we've thought this through carefully. < /sarcasm >

This reflects extremely poorly on whoever in the U.S military and Bush Administration is running this policy.

Don't lie, af_vet. I said no such thing.

I'm beginning to believe you're a leftist. This is a Washington Post article.

Why do you quote it as if it's the truth?

This will occur repeatedly in every Sunni Arab centre,

Lahkdar Brahimi[Algerian Sunni]..who is working this fixy for the U.N. covertly desires to enable the Sunni's...deepen the entanglment.

Lahkdar is a schemeing liar...he said there is no military solution to Fallujah.
Lahkdar was the Foreign Minister for Algeria from 91-93.
His country had Fundamentalist Islamic uprisings...their solution was to slaughter them.....by the thousands.

This is unconfirmed, but this is apparently a picture of the military muckety-muck running the show in Fallujah:

btw, what is your goal anyway? You go around from thread to thread spreading your miserable attitude and hostile Bush bashing pessimism.

And now you've added lies to your negativism.

Be careful of the slippery slope you're on.

Does anyone really know what's happening in Fallujah? We've had 3 days of misinformation, disinformation, conflicting information. Pentagon officials don't seem to know. Military officials in Iraq seem to contradict anything released from the Pentagon.

The Bush administration needs to get PR out on this situation. So far, all the information is conflicting news reports.

Flatten.

No need to "apolize" or rebuild.
