Let Us Unite Behind President Bush ( A Plea Message to all Freepers)
FE/2/04 | JVERITAS

Posted on 02/02/2004 1:48:11 PM PST by jveritas

Dear Freepers

In this crucial election year, we are seeing that some conservatives are irresponsibly attacking President Bush in very aggressive way. By doing so, they are helping the Democrats and this is not acceptable at all. In this crucial time of our history, where we are fighting the war on terror, it is extremely important that we stay firmly united behind President Bush. We simply cannot afford as a nation to have a Democrat in the White House, it will be a disaster for America. Thus, I would like to ask you my friends who love President Bush and want to see him re-elected to stop attacking him and think about the big picture. Also, I would like to ask you to personally send e-mails to any conservative journalist, radio host, or TV host who is attacking President Bush or harshly criticizing him and ask them not to do so. I already e-mailed Mr. Joe Scarborough from MSNBC asking him to stop attacking President Bush as he has been doing lately. I send an e-mail to Mr. Bob Novak asking him to tell the truth about the ultra left liberal John Kerry rather than put down President Bush as he did in his latest articles. I sent an e-mail to NewsMax asking them to retrieve my name from their e-mail news alert list because I disagree with the way they are attacking President Bush lately. Any article posted on Free Republic and that is bashing President Bush for not being “conservative enough” should not get any traction or responses. If we do not respond to them, then they will eventually stop posting such irresponsible articles. We must work hard in toning down the rhetoric of some of our conservative friends. We love them very much, we respect them very much, but their anger is hurting us all in this crucial election year. Please let us do so, for the sake of this great nation.

Sincerely yours; JVERITAS

He's got my vote for the simple fact that I couldn't turn the war over to Kerry, Dean or Edwards.

And I'm unapologetic about it.

>>conservatives are irresponsibly attacking President Bush

I see it the other way. Criticism of the President's policies are responded to with various forms of abuse, invective, name calling and sheer hysteria.

Perhaps attempting to convince those who disagree might be a more fruitful venture.

Criticising policies is not bashing.

Good post. While Im not happy at all about some of the things he has done, he certainly has my vote. I wouldnt want it on my conscience that my pettiness, petulance, childishness or selfishness in sitting out the vote or voting third party, allowed Kerry, Dean, or Clinton in the White House.

If Bush had simply refrained from enacting legislation and spending that were antagonistic to his base we wouldn't even be having this conversation in the first place. He needs to throw some very BIG bones and make them stick for conservatives to get excited about his re-election.

If you are thinking of voting Third Party or staying home on election day as a protest day, don't come back here and complain if we have a Democrat president.

A democrat who believes we should give immediate citizenship to illegal aliens.

A democrat who believes we should have socialized health care.

A democrat who believes the war on terror should be waged as a law enforcement matter.

A democrat who will get us back into Kyoto.

A democrat who will have our soldiers submit to the rules of the ICC.

A democrat who will not do anything on the international front UNLESS we have permission from the UN.

A democrat who will make judicial appointments that are so liberal we can expect to see more judges who support the more perverse elements of our society.

A democrat who will permit women to abort their children as the make their way down the birth canal.

Need I go on? So don't stay home. Do you duty. It's a simple duty. If our soldiers can give what they are sacrificing every minute of every day, the least you can do is hold your nose and vote for a man who isn't quite as conservative as you would like him to be.

If we end up with a Democrat president as a result, I do hope people are ashamed of their decision to abdicate their responsibility to vote for the BEST candidate, not the perfect candidate. There is no such thing as the PERFECT candidate.

I am choking on the bones President Bush is throwing us conservatives and I will not reward his taking us for granted anymore. He seems to believe that we will support him as the lessor of two evils, thus encouraging him to act stupidly on many fronts. If we conservatives keep thinking that we have no choice but to support the lesser of two evils we will perpetuate the contempt shown our Constitution and Judeo-Christian values by his and future administrations.

I will not participate in this destructive exercise in futility again.

While I agree, it's like herding cats. Dems are like union slugs and can "organize" better than we can. Not sure there's not hope. Too many hot-headed conservatives with more principles than common sense.

I may not like all that W's has done, is doing or will do that doesn't mean that I won't vote for him. The thought of another Clintoon or Clintoonian supporter taking over the presidency is unthinkable. Shivers just ran up my spine at that thought while typing that last sentence.
