The above is in response to the recent attacks on my character, my honesty and my devotion to principle. If anyone here really believes that I am dishonest, disloyal or unprincipled, then I wish you would resign from this website and leave us be.

I intend to use the Free Republic website to advance the causes of freedom and Liberty. I love my country dearly and do not wish to see it destroyed by any enemy, foreign or domestic, and this includes terrorists, socialists, communists, anarchists, nazis, liberals, democrats or anyone else.

I'm sorry I missed this yesterday. Eloquently put.

We may sometimes disagree on particular issues, policies, or candidates, but never on the fundamental basis of our Republic and the urgent need to opposed the enemies of liberty.

Not all of the enemies of liberty are Democrats, but all of the Democrats are enemies of liberty!

I agree with the above, except if the GOP renews the AWB, they will NOT get my vote. Period.

It would be impossible for me to state how fervently I agree with your post.

It still amazes me how I, a longtime conservative political junky and hopeless internet addict who spent countless hours on other bulletin boards discussing politics, could not have found this place until mid-2001. I still consider myself a relative newbie, but I am behind you and your efforts 100%. I cannot imagine how anyone could have done a better job here.

Those who complain about this place, IMHO, are spoiled and have long since taken FR for granted.

I am proudly with you. FR kicks ass.
The dems are exactly evil and too stupid to realize it.
God bless you Sir.

Jim, I agree wholeheartedly. Don't forget that the Republican Party has abandoned the Constitution or the idea of making the government smaller. The Republican Party is very comfortable using the government as a money bag to buy votes.

How is it I just now saw this post? If only I could be here 24-7.

I'm in complete agreement with you. I am so thankful for Free Republic- I've been at other conservative forums but they don't compare to FR. I've left them all behind- FR is all I need.

I came to the conclusion several years ago that there is no way this republic can survive if we allow the Democrat Party to maintain control over our government and other institutions.

Jim, you're right on track. With the Dems, its all about power and control. Anyone who doubts this should just look at the pattern of some of their most recent machinations: the unconstitutional blocking of judidical nominations in the Senate; re-interpretation of election laws in New Jersey; and demands for selective vote counts in Florida. They are undermining our democracy.

I happen to believe that, while some of us may loathe the Democratic party, America is best served by two vigorous political parties which disagree with each other. Not to the point of divisiveness: Jim's post shows no interest in working with Democrats to improve America -- but to the point where we can sit down and think rationally about what each other is saying. Otherwise, we won't be heard, and we can't consider their thinking in making sure our policies are sufficiently robust. America NEEDS us to understand each other. In the same way that businesses improve through strong competition, we need the Democrats. If they go away, we will grow complacent.

Besides, they are not Satan: they are our fellow Americans. And anyone who thinks disagreement originated in this generation hasn't spent enough time reading about the debates and discussion which led to our constitution and its bill of rights.

"I love my country dearly and do not wish to see it destroyed..."

That's it in a nutshell. That is why I refer the right to the left. I'd rather see individuals empowered rather than government. The left trusts no one but themselves; dismissing the electorate for what they think is the common good.

Sad really. For the most part, those on the right seem to have a better understanding of what are politicians are doing in Washington. Our choices seem to empower the individual rather than the government. We tend to use common sense when viewing issues. The left rules with emotion, reality seems to escape them at every turn.

Fortunately, we still have the power to change things. Unfortunately, many good people believe what they are told rather than search for the truth through the lies. It seems many people don't want to know the truth. Just so long as they have their cable TV, SUV, and food on the table, there is nothing wrong in the world. Until that changes, I don't see the left disappearing anytime soon.

Hopefully, we on the right can promote the education of the electorate by challenging the left on every lie they spout and on every self-serving initiative they attempt. The days of taking no action have to end. Maybe if enough of their crap is exposed, they may be forced into extinction. Freerepublic is an excellent example in how we can bring the truth to the forefront.

Thanks Jim.

I agree with you on all statements. This past weekend my church was visited by a lobying group from Washington. I was very upset after hearing them talk and show their bias against the Republicans and President Bush. We did further research on the group and their main issue is seperation of church and state, yet they are very much inline with groups I would never want to be associated with. I do not know what is happening in our country, but I see a shift with many of my christian church members to the left. It upsets me, yet I do not know what I can do to stop this action.

Free Republic Lexicon

Liberal = Socialist
Suicide Bomber = Murderer
”Immigrant” = illegal alien = law breaker

Correct the media buzz words when and where ever you can and add to this list.

Jim,

Your ire is misplaced.

Peter, Dan, and Tom, are the Constitution's enemy.

For it is from these 3 men, that Americans still get 70% of their information about government. Don't be fooled by their supposed falling ratings, they still receive and are believed by the majority of the public.

As you know it is a small % of people on either side, who care and read and watch many forms of media.

The Network "News" programs are by far the most dangerous for this county. And our pols make ALL decisions according to how it will be "played".

Our energies, and yours, must be focused on these 3 propaganda information departments.

The leftists would be nowhere, but for the networks.

They must be completely discredited and defeated.

How about starting with journalistic "plants" in their newsrooms, to expose them?

It would be a start on fighting a war on the homefront.

Any takers?

Thanks for your wonderfully clear statement, Jim! I agree with you 100% and fully support your actions and your important web site. I also believe that all Freepers should do all we can to make sure the disgusting Clintons do not prevail and that the RATS and their evil ideology are no longer a threat to the Republic.
