China’s monstrous Xi continues his crackdown
NY Post ^ | 7/31/2021 | Post Editorial Board

President Xi Jinping is continuing his pervasive crackdown on anyone and anything that stands in the way of the Chinese Communist Party — the more blood spilled, the better.

Beijing this month will impose new laws on Hong Kong and Macau giving the state broader powers for asset seizure, visa denial and deportation against those it says enable foreign sanctions.

That’s an answer to increasing US and European sanctions over Xi’s often-genocidal human-rights abuses and piratical approach to trade: Put Western businesses trying to work in China in the crosshairs.

The Biden administration just warned US companies that China’s year-old “national-security” law for Hong Kong already makes it perilous to do business in the once-free island city.

Beijing is also coming down hard on its own tech giants in the name of antitrust enforcement and consumer protection. Its Ministry of Industry and Information Technology last week announced a new six-month “rectification” program targeting issues from “disturbing market order” to “unauthorized Internet connections.” The crackdown is about asserting CCP power over firms Xi thinks have too much independence. Even one-time poster boy Jack Ma has been slapped hard.

The Democrats are taking notes and using Covid as a test run to see how far they can push the envelope.

We need to continue to bring back manufacturing of essential products (e.g., medicines, critical electronics) Biden won’t do it but when Trump is back in office (2025 or earlier) HE WILL.

The UK should NEVER have ceded HK and Kowloon to the CCP. Return the 'New Territories', per the 99 year LEASE signed July 1, 1898? Absolutely! NOT HK and Kowloon, however! Those parcels were CEDED by Treaty to the UK. IF they were going to be returned, it should have been to the LAWFUL government of China, located in TAIPEI!

If the ChiComs had objected in 1997? Several Trafalgar-class boats loitering nearby, would have got their attention. A lost opportunity.

I saw on the War Room today - a discussion about forced organ donation. The rich need an organ, and the Chinese find the match and drag them in. Sometimes the donor is buried alive after wards - depends on what he donated I guess. Horrid country. More Evil than the Soviets.

The Brits learned how to surrender territory by watching Jimmy Carter.

To those of you Conservatives waiting for God's judgement on the left, if you supported the free trade deals that enriched this regime then you may find yourselves on the receiving end of that judgement.

It may be a good idea to do what you have called others to do, and start repenting.

I think the British were quite weary after the rather futile Falklands War with Argentina (1982) and realised that there was little choice but to had back the New Territories lease to China. Margaret Thatcher started that process in 1984, completing the process in 1997. The US had been pushing the UK to hand back Hong Kong for some considerable time too.

What the CCP have demonstrated is that they cannot be trusted. Why we (UK) have placed so much manufacturing, ownership of UK intellectual property and physical property in the hands of the CCP is beyond me.

Same here, but what's worse is that our side supported the free trade deals even AFTER the communists had stolen our technology during the Clinton administration. We should have known better, but many on our side went all in anyway. Now we're blaming President Biden for everything.

Even one-time poster boy Jack Ma has been slapped hard.

So hard that, other than unverifiable reports by unreliable sources, he gave $3 billion worth of Ailbaba stock to the CCP; so hard that all his internal organs fell out in neat little boxes ready to be shipped to some needy Party member.

While the Dems may be taking notes - or more likely, select members are being trained on tactics to make the US a province of the Mainland. When PAP-CT units show up here, as they are turning up in Cuba and other Central and South American countries, it will be too late to stop the conversion of the Republic into a Dictatorship. You haven’t seen mass brutality unto you’ve seen the PAP at work.

PAP-CT = Peoples Armed Police - Counter Terrorism, A directorate of the Ministry of State Security, answerable directly to the Central Committee of the CCP.

even AFTER the communists had stolen our technology during the Clinton administration.

Correction: During the Clinton Admin, Bill Clinton ***sold*** them the tech for campaign contributions - other than the free good will tech he gave them like: a miniaturized switch, enabling the Chinese to mount thermonuclear warheads on their missiles - something they could not do prior; hosted the PLAN aboard every type of navy ship, allowed them to go wherever shipboard they pleased, and to observe all naval exercises.

It was the Clintons’ Third Way philosophy to enable military parity to prevent war between equals. The Third Way is essentially the guiding philosophy behind American Communism.

Biden is presenting weakness and Xi taking advantage of it - weakness invites war. If war happens it is Biden’s fault and the fault of those running him and his Admin.

None of the current situation with China and Taiwan would be present had DJT remained in Office.

Clinton has been out of office since 2001. Even if he sold them the tech we had at the time, it was still the free traitors on OUR SIDE that GAVE THEM our tech advances since then.

And Biden isn't the cause of this, he is the result of it. He may project weakness, but it was the free traitors on our side that sent them the money and technology to take advantage of it.

I agree none of this would be happening if Trump was still president, but the stupid free trade deals our side pushed, along with the money we send the leftist media with our TV subscriptions so we can be entertained by them, are the reasons he isn't still the president.

There is no “even if,” its a matter of historical record that he did sell the tech. There may no longer be any way to access most of that record since the internet has greatly changed; many of the sources are gone or pages scrubbed as new systems introduced.

Not to defend the corporate tech transfer, but many companies did not understand that in order to do business they had to hand over their IP to the CCP, and what that meant for them and the country. Many of them were bankrupted by these transfers; none of those would have done that, had they understood the real CCP. Put a great bit of that done to naivete, poor education, poor business practices, and just general stupidity on the part of their Boards. Greed may have played some small part, but no successful business lasts long running on greed.

It is Biden’s fault that he DOES project weakness. It will be Biden’s fault if the CCP tries to take Taiwan in the next 2 years. However, behind the scenes, there are still military things happening that give the lie to the Administration as militarily weak.

The reason DJT is not POTUS has more to do with the Democrat’s control of the US voting system, than any other single reason - certainly not the reasons you mentioned.
